You only need one bullet to kill a man. This is what some of us authors keep in mind. I value the importance of one shot and short stories. Though long, chaptered stories broaden our understanding and imagination. I prefer striking the hearts of my readers with something I can write in a few minutes or so. It's about efficiency. We humans face problems every day, some more difficult than others. And the value of short stories lie in their ability to easily send a message to the reader. When I help out a person just minutes before he commits suicide, that's when I know I did my job.
