When we were expecting our first daughter I began to look at things differently and to think about the world she was going to be be born into. I bet it is something most new parents do! 

    Out of this experience of looking at the world from a new perspective I got the urge to create and, being an avid reader all my life, it became natural to start to think of creating stories.

    I dabbled in some short stories, but never got around to getting them published (the arrival of new baby takes up A LOT of time!!!).

    My Mum, when she was alive, was a big Agatha Christie fan and I still read a lot of crime fiction, so the idea for my own detective began to form in my head and Sergeant Gui grew out of those ideas.

    Darkchapel, which I am showing the opening chapters of here is what I hope will be the first in a set of adventures for Sergeant Gui.
