It's the marriage of Prompt 75 and Prompt 6.
Y'all cordially invited!Sometimes it feels like the ONC is the gift that keeps on giving.
Last year I wrote a story both in English in Spanish called "The girl". Ultimately, I decided to submit just the Spanish version, and left the English out for fun, to share with my English readers.
That little story, which originally started as an English draft, became a major Spanish novel, and went on to become the grand prize winner for the Wattys 2022.
I owe that amazing experience to the ONC. It took me out of a writer's block into what can only be described as my best year on Wattpad yet.
There was a lot of research about hoodoo, voodoo and other stuff going into "The girl" at that time.
Most of that research went into my desk drawer, as I opted for werewolves, instead of the type of haunting I was initially thinking about.
This year I found out a prompt that could easily fit within many aspects of my research so, if you read "The Girl" last time, then I invite you to come back to a world ruled by oracles of life and death in the wilds of Louisiana.
However, this will have a contemporary setting, a haunted heirloom and a house that has a murderous mind of its own.
Ready? Let's go then and find out what's within those walls!
Will have new chapters, every Wednesday starting on February 8th!
You're welcome to The Open House!
Before we go in, remember:
Many of my stories include the adaptation of
use and customs, spiritual practices/symbols figureheads cherished by a number of religions to fit a fantasy narrative.
