My parents are home
They made me an appointment
An appointment with a therapist
They're tear streaked
They must have been crying
Willow plays in the corner
She doesn't know what is happening
Why do they do anything?
They never notice
They make me sit on the couch
They grip my hands
As though I'll vanish into thin air if they let go
It hurts
Their grips are too tight
I hate the look of concern that's been plastered on their face since I walked in
"Why didn't you tell us?"
You're never here
"How long?"
Long enough
"Stop hurting yourself."
I can't, it makes me feel better
We leave for the therapist
Like it'll make a difference
It won't help
It never does
I should know
I've tried it before
