Chapter 1 • The Meeting

"Excuse me, Miss Nelson, just a reminder you have an up coming meeting in ten minutes", my PA Debra said through the intercom.

I pressed the button to speak through my intercom, "Thanks Debra".

I packed up my files and put them away into my file cabinet. Being the co-CEO of a large, successful organization is a lot work. I had a few job interviews to attend to for people that want to work for us.

Nate and I had started from the bottom and built our way to the top and became very successful. This business meant the world to me because it's a result of what good I could do in life and how much I had accomplished after I lost everything.

My office door opened to reveal Nate in his suit. He throw an envelope on my desk and sat adjacent to me.

"What's this?", I asked as I eyed the envelope.

"I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's a letter. It's from Wilson Co. though", he answered as he leant forward in his chair.

"Have you read it yet?", I asked as I picked up the letter.

"No. It came this morning and it was addressed to the CEOs so I brought it so we could look at it together", he got up and walked around my desk to stand behind of my chair.

I opened the envelope to reveal a typed letter.

Wilson Co.
Luke Wilson

Dear Ms. Nelson and Mr. Miller,

I am aware that your business is very successful, such as mine, and I wrote to make a proposal.

Our businesses are ones of the most successful in the state but there are people that wish nothing more than to watch us fall. So therefore, my father had this brilliant idea of both companies merging to form the best organization in the state or even the world. It would be more stable and the income would be doubled. There is not going to be much change but the name. Your workers would still be able to work for the company such as mines. The only difference there'll be is the headquarter will be located else where of the companies where myself and both of your offices will be. Due to our absense at our companies, our assistant managers will be making sure the companies work efficiently whilst we do that at the headquarter.
