When Carly came back home later that day, instead of confronting her like I had planned on, I just decided to ignore her. So I spent the rest of the day cooped up in my room with a family sized bag of Doritos and a pint of Ben and Jerry's mint chocolate chip ice cream. It wasn't at all healthy, but I didn't feel like cooking anything. But it sure did satisfy me and made me relax.

However, it's 7:30 and my alarm clock is going off like crazy. I let it make it's obnoxious noise as I sit here and debate if I should after all go to work this morning. But realizing that I had already pissed off Adam from the whole situation, I probably don't want to rile him up even more.

So I begrudgingly got out of bed, turn my alarm clock off, and shuffle into the bathroom to take a shower because boy, do I stink. I do a quick rinse and wash my hair since it's all greasy, and hop out of the shower in fifteen minutes.

Since the weather has been pretty chilly lately, I need to start dressing in warmer clothes. I put on a black wool knit pencil skirt with a white button down and pull on my beige pea coat, and add a black scarf with it. I quickly pull on black heels, grab my purse and am out of my apartment before Carly could even wake up.

On usual days, I would dread morning traffic because that would make me late to work. But today, the roads are clear which annoys me. I need that morning traffic to think about how I would approach Adam. But since the roads are damn free of a million cars, it doesn't give me much time to think. In fact, my mind was on the fact on how I'm annoyed about the clear roads.

I arrived at Smith Enterprise, and park in the employee's parking garage. I get in the elevator that takes me to the main floor of the building. I walk by Pam, the first floor assistant and nod my head in her direction when she wished me a good morning. I hopped onto the elevator and saw Jamie in there with a manila folder in his hand.

"Oh hey, girl!" He says with a cheeky smile.

"Hi." I reply back and I hit the eight button on the number pad as the elevator doors close.

"Heads up, Mr. Smith is in a really bad mood. So I'd be careful if I were you." He informs me.

I have a small feeling that Adam's in a mood because of me. But I nod my head and smile at Jamie. "Well thanks for the heads up."

"You're welcome. So how come you weren't here yesterday? And girl, you've gotta tell me all about your trip to Rio." He grins as he places his hands on my shoulder.

The elevator dings, notifying that I'm on the eighth floor. "I wasn't here yesterday because I was feeling a bit under weather. And I'll tell you all about Rio later." I say as I make my way off.

"Okay. Well I wanna hear everything!" He says as the doors close on him.

I put my purse on my desk and sit down in my chair as I blow out a sigh. I groan at the stack of papers that are on my desk that weren't there before. It looks like tedious work.

As if on cue, the door to Adam's office opens and I watch as he comes out, wearing a cold glare.

"Where the hell were you yesterday?" He asks, wearing a frown as he crosses his arms across his chest.

I look down at my hands, and then place my eyes on the stack of papers as I try to come up with something reasonable.

"Answer me." He thickly says.
