Chapter 28

Violet's POV

It's been too long. Haven't heard anything since the attack. We've been living in Inviz since then we we go back to the real world every so often but it's just.....quiet. Too quiet. Hunter thinks it over, Destiney thinks it's not, I think the attack was just the beginning. Good or bad I don't know. I don't wanna know. It's been 2 years and everything has been going good so far. Mercery is walking and talking and boy oh boy that child is something else.

Right now I'm sitting in our huge living room. Just watching. Observing

" Auntie Vi" Mery runs up to me

" Yes"

" I can't find mommy"

I know where she is. Her and Xavier are "talking"

" I don't know where she is right now sweetheart. Do you wanna spend some time with me?" She smiled big

" Can we make something?"

It brought back memories when Chantel let me babysit Rose and we baked cookies

" Of course. Go find the cook book and pick out something that looks good to you"

" Okay" she ran off. Connor walked up to me with worry on his face

" What's wrong?" I asked

" Something's wrong with Avery"

We went where we held Avery. Hazel was already down there

" She doesn't look too good"

She's right. Avery looked weak. You could see the bones on her body. We fed her everyday. The only thing she didn't have was freedom. We weren't monsters so she shouldn't look like this

" Help....me" she said weakly. Before we could respond she started bleeding. From where I have no idea

" It's like she's bleeding from her skin" Connor said

" Like how amphibians breath through their skin. She's literally bleeding from her skin" Hazel said

" Help....." Avery said but then she started screaming. We backed up and it was a good thing we did because she exploded. Yea you heard me. She exploded

" What the hell" I whispered

" We have to tell the others" Connor said and we ran upstairs

When we got upstairs I heard a little voice calling me

" Auntie auntie I found one" Mery handed me the book and it was chicken alfredo

" Okay sweety can you give me a second" she looked sad

" Okay" she walked away

"Destiney"

"Yea"

" We uh have a situation that needs your assistance"

"What is it?"

" You have to see it yourself"

I didn't hear anything else but I saw Dest walk out of her room and walk over to me

" So what did you need to show
me"

" Uhh" Connor said

" What"

" You have something on your uh neck"

I looked at her neck and saw....

" Is that a hickey?" Hazel asked

Dest pulled her hair in front to cover it

"What did you have to show me"

When we got to the basement we didn't say anything. We let Dest see

" Oh my god. Is that Avery?" She asked and we nodded

" What happened?"

" We don't know. She started bleeding out of her skin then she screamed and boom she exploded" Hazel said and Dest looked confused

" As crazy as it sounds that's actually what happened"

All of a sudden I hear a faint noice. I don't know what it is but it seems to get louder

" Do you hear that?" I asked and we all listened. Dest must have figured it out cause she said....

" Oh no" she sprinted upstairs and we followed. We made it just in time
