The Sorrow Night Songs relays the poet's pain and distress at the gradually fading patriotism of Africans. Several lines resonated with me—as a reader—and made me think and reflect on the present lifestyle of Africans and the lack of love amongst them.
The poet used intricate descriptions and oxymorons perfectly to paint images in our heads of the Africa of today. A very insightful and well-written anthology.
