Endless Rain

As I wait on sodden wing
Rain halts my sunny spring
I make in bitterness my bed
And bring clouds upon my head

As I wait on sullied sky
When dull day offends the eye
I close them to dream of light
Which shines upon my lonely night

As I wait forever still
Raindrops stain the windowsill
All thoughts sing in rhyme
Only thought to pass the time

As I wait on hopeful high
Arm raised to greying sky
Will blue sing back to me
And tell grey to set me free

One day when my wait is done
All will bathe in golden sun
And when the rains have died
Summer songs will echo outside
