What else is there to be afraid of?

Even the wind whistles when you walk by.
I'm not sure how a man is supposed to fight something he
Cannot see. I have been trying to fight my own shadow for years, for example.
Yet, only one of us is sweating and my mother told me if we tire
We are losing.

But I am lying in wait with my fists up to my face
For the next chirping noise anyway, as if I know the first thing about what it
Takes to win a fight. What
I will need to lose in order to win you.

But I do know faith can move mountains and I am
My most hopeful when around you so
What threat is the breeze and the sun to me?
What meaning do her words have over something
Neither she nor I never truly understood?

What else is there to be afraid of?

Author's Note

The way I forgot to upload today for a second. But I'm here now and this week's dedication goes to dixxie20036 for their beautiful comments, not just on here but on Instagram too! They called me their favourite poet and I'm still touched. If you want a poem dedicated to you, you know what to do! Vote and comment some love and you might just get a dedication next week!
