Chapter 4: professor keys

In the morning Athena walks into the great hall and sits with Marlene and the boys "morning all" Athena yawn
"Have any of you got that professor keys today?" Remus puts down his time table
"Erm we have him first period" James checks his time table
"Yep me too" Marlene says "he will only be here a year it'll be fine" she looks at the boys
"Why will be only be here a year?" Athena asks
All of them look at her with their mouths wide open "you haven't heard of the curse of defence against the dark arts teacher?" Sirius asks
Athena shakes her head "No why?"
James moves closer to her "Basically every year something happens to the teacher, they go missing or retire, and what was last years one why did he leave?"
"Nearly fell off the astronomy tower" Sirius gazes at his brother
"Mate" James waves his hands in-front of Sirius's face "earth the Sirius"
Sirius looks at James "sorry, regulus he's been acting so odd recently" Sirius looks back at the Slytherin table "and my guess it's those sly gits two tables across" Snape catches Athenas eye from the slytherin table. He whispers to regulus and regulus smiles.
Athena stands up "I've got to go I've got potions, Marlene can I borrow your owl later I wanna write to jo and tell her we got to hogwarts safely you know how she gets" she kisses Marlene on the top of the head
Sirius smiles at the mention of Jo's name "Oo say hello from me, I love Jo" he goes pink
"Who's jo" Remus asks
"She's Athena and Marlene's older sister, she's wicked she's an auror better then anyone, she works with that mad-eye" Sirius smirks
"Isn't he mental, he twitches at the sound of a pin drop" James says
"No that's just a rumour, he's funny mad-eye one day in the Christmas break you should come round he's always near our house" Athena smiles "now I really have to go, bye" Athena walks out.

"Hey Thena" someone yells from down the hallway. It's regulus. "you got potions right?"
"Uh yeah, how did you know" Athena smiles awkwardly
"It says we have potions together on my time table, believe me I'm glad I'm not stuck with the gryffindors this year" he chuckles
"What's so bad about the gryffindors ?" Athena looks at him confused
"Well your sisters not that bad but the rest of them are mostly arrogant, see ravenclaw is smart that's why slytherins and ravenclaws get along, they think with their heads not their hearts" regulus grins
"Right, I think we have a very different views on the gryffindors" she say as she walks into professor slughorns class. He greets everyone with a warm smile
"Welcome everyone, I'm professor slughorn I'm sure they slytherins know me as I'm head of their house but I would love to welcome the ravenclaws we have" his eyes skim the classroom and his eyes land on you "ah let me guess miss McKinnon" he points at Athena
"Oh uh yes" shepolitely smile as slughorn gives a chuckle
"Oh I can recognise that smile anywhere, might I say you are very much alike your sister jo, oh and I can see some of Meg in your eyes" he points out.
Throughout the whole lesson everyone learnt the way liquid luck works, slughorn kept on coming over and asking you questions seeing how your sisters are and asking questions like 'oh I hope you enjoy this class while it lasts, how do you enjoy potions?' And also questions like what her interests are, and finally 'oh I must say you are extremely bright for your age, maybe you could join the slug club' Athena could feel slughorn slowly becoming one of your favourite teachers.

After the lesson Athena headed down to the courtyard to sit with Pandora. "He's amazing that slughorn isn't he, I think he's going to be fun" panda smiles. Before Athena could get a word out the mauraders come out all huddled together giggling and laughing, Remus laughs "and no did you see the way he was playing music quietly throughout the whole lesson, he's wicked that teacher I love him already" Remus's face lets out a light grin. Sirius sees Athena and Pandora and gestures to the boys to go sit with them, they all sit down still smiling
"And may I ask why you all look like little girls obsessing over a boy" Athena asks
"Because we are obsessing over a boy" James scotches over "it's that professor keys, he's mad brilliant he brought out this wardrobe" the excitement over James face was very clear
"A wardrobe ?"
Remus interrupts them all "no Athena you don't understand he brought out boggarts they were mental, they take form of whatever your biggest fear was, you have to say this spell called riddikulus to get rid of it and make it something funny" Athena has never seen Remus smile so much
"Well what were your fears?" She looks at all of the boys
Remus shuffles closer and whispers slightly "listen to this James's was loosing a quidditch match, no joke you could see the colour vanish from his face" Remus smiles
"Well looks like his fears coming true then if I go against him" Athena smiles
"Oh please do, if you beat him he'll be loss of words for weeks there's one thing James potter doesn't do is shut up" Remus looks at James "sorry I never properly introduced myself" he holds out his hand "Remus lupin" Athena takes grab of his hand and shakes it
"Athena McKinnon" she smiles.

After about an hour of Athena and Remus were talking all lunch. After lunch Athena headed off to professor keys lesson. As soon as she walked in she could see professor keys standing there in a blue suit smiling at everyone "welcome students as you have heard I'm professor keys, now can you all sit down" he gives a slight smile. He looks down at his key board at all the lessons he can teach his finger goes down the page "unicorns no that's boring, Hippogriff no" he looks up at the class "you know what Hippogriffs are right" one eyebrow raises, the class nods "ok good, ah there we go Patronus Charm" he looks up again from the clip board "do any of you know what a Patronus Charm is?" The class shakes there head but Athena. Professor keys looks at you "you" he points at her and looks at his clipboard and flips the page "your miss McKinnon correct?" He smiles
"Yes sir" Athena nods
"Megs sister am I correct" Athena could see him smiling too himself
"Uh yes she is" Athena nods
"I've known her for years, know what do you know about the Patronus Charm miss McKinnon?" His eyes meet back at hers
Athena clears her throat "It's basically something that helps dementors stop from attacking you" she says
"Correct miss McKinnon 5 points to ravenclaw" he walks back to his desk and grabs some chalk, he starts writing facts about dementors and what they do on the boards. For the rest of the lesson he cracks jokes about dementors and what they look like, he became the best teacher the kids have ever had in such short of time. "Alright thank you students, it was my pleasure to teach you all i hope to see you soon" he bows as everyone leaves. Regulus walks up to Athena "he's brilliant isn't he?, never had a teacher like that before" he grins "he seemed to like you" he points out
"Yeah that's because I'm so likeable" Athena smiles.
