I let a yawn break out of my mouth as I started to drive over to Baylen's around three. His mom texted me that he started crying out of nowhere and needed someone who would understand
As i'm going down his familiar road i sigh trying to think of what could have changed his mood so fast. I pull up into his driveway and park the car, Turning the keys till they are out and pocketing them
I headed up to the door knocking, and I was welcomed with Baylens mom's face "Could you show me where he is?" Her mom nods and lets out a breath she has been seemingly holding in and i rub her back
She directs me to his bathroom and I hear the quiet sniffles of Baylen, I take my lip in his mouth before I sigh and open the door "Mom! I said i was fine," i chuckle before grabbing his hands and taking them away from his face
"Rory? What are you doing here?" I let a small smile engulf my face "Well, i wanted to hangout with my best friend at three in the morning," He tries to wipe his tears but fails, due to them in my grasp
I make sure my smile never fades as i wipe the tears for him, leaning into the touch of my hands so i leave it there for his comfort, "Why can't i ever just me enough Rory,"
I feel my eyes start to sting as he starts to sob, and I pull him into my chest and rub his back "Oh no Baylen you are plenty then enough, you are so successful and you prove that hard work pays off. Now don't you ever say that you aren't enough because look at you right now, you paid off all of your debts to your parents. And all of your bestfriends work for you, and we love you so so much,"
He wraps his arms around me and puts his head in the crook of my neck, as I run my small fingers through his hair. "Everything is just so stressful, i don't think i can do it anymore," i chuckle sadly at his statement
"Well Baylen life isnt easy and you will get stressed, but as long as you push through it and balance work and your life you will be okay," i feel his tears soaking through my sweater as he starts to finish crying
I pull away and smile at him, "Thanks Rory I love you," I push my cheeks out before exhaling the air "I love you too, how about we go get some food?" He smiles and i go grab him a hoodie and shorts to change into grabbing myself one of his hoodies to wear as well
I take his hand laughing as he just smiles at me and we go to my car, "Okay i think mcdonalds is the only restaurant that is open at the moment so thats what were stuck with,"
"Yeah that's fine with me, thank you again aurora," I hold his hand in mine and made him look at me "Its what im here for Baylen, You would do the same for me," He gives me one of his smiles which i have grown to adore
