I had gotten reddie, and was now walking down the stairs. I saw Jack looking back at me, this must be super new to him, I smiled.

We walked up to each other, he got my gloved hand, and kissed it "I saw that on Nickelodeon once, and I always wanted to do it"

We both laughed, then he offered his arm, and I put mine around it as we walked together.

"Darling? Surely you remember Mr. Dawson" I said to Cal

"Mr. Dawson? *Laughs* It's amazing. You could almost pass for a gentleman" said Cal

"Almost" said Jack

"That is extraordinary" said Cal, as he continued to walk with my mother. As I walked with Jack, I told him who people were so he wouldn't get confused.

A few people waved at me, and I waved back.

"Sweet pea? Sweet pea?" asked Cal, calling out for me

"Ain't nothing to it, is there, Jack? Remember, they love money, so just pretend like you own a gold mine and you're in the club." said Molly, then started to talk to Astor. He was like the richest person on the ship...or was that someone else? I'm bad with names 🤦‍♀️.

"J.J., Madeline, I'd like you to meet Jack Dawson." I said, and they greeted him

"Well, Jack, are you of the Boston Dawsons?" asked Astor

"No, the Chippewa Falls Dawsons, actually" said Jack

"Oh, yes" said Astor, then we continued to walk.

Jack was nervous, but he acted well. They just assumed that he was one of them.

As we sat down....

"Tell us of the accommodations in steerage, Mr. Dawson, I hear they're quite good on this ship." said my mother

"The best I've seen, ma'am. Hardly any rats." said Jack, making everyone laugh

"Mr. Dawson is joining us from third class. He was of help to my fiancée last night." said Cal

"Turn's out he's quite a good artist as well. He was kind enough to show me a few drawings today" I said

"Y/n and I differ in our definition of fine art. Not to impugn your work, sir." said Cal, I then gestured for Jack to put his napkin on his lap.

"Your ship is fascinating, Mr. Andrews" I said

"Thank you, Y/n" said Mr. Andrews

"Where exactly do you live, Mr. Dawson?" asked my mother, can she stop?

"Well, right now, my address is the R.M.S Titanic, after that, I'm on God's good humor." said Jack

"And how do you have means to travel?" asked my mother

"I work my way from place to place. You know, tramp steamers and such. But I won my ticket on Titanic at a lucky hand at poker. A very lucky hand." said Jack

"All life is a game of luck." said someone, I was too busy staring at Jack to know.

"I've heard that luck is better than skill. I mean, you're lucky enough to have skill" I said

"Hmm, a real man makes his own luck, right, Dawson?" asked Cal

"Hmm" said Jack

"And you find that sort of rootless existence appealing?" asked my mother

"Well, yes, ma'am. I do. I mean, I've got everything I need right here with me. I have air in my lungs, and blank sheets of paper. And I love waking up in the morning, not knowing what will happen or who I'll meet. Where I'll wind up. One night I was sleeping under a bridge...and now, here I am, on the grandest ship in the world, having champagne with you fine people. I'll take more of that." said Jack as the waiter poured more champagne into his glass.
