chapter two

I ran to my room and started packing my belongings and hide my suitcase under my bed , I'd leave at midnight

Mrs grace fed everyone and we went to bed my roommate fell asleep 30 minutes ago but I wanted to be sure so after a few minutes I threw on my boots and hoodie and grabbed my suitcase and snuck out the back door which I found out monthes before didn't have an alarm , Mrs grace didn't have enough to pay for it .
I ran as fast as I could until I hit the road and started running down it and didn't stop until my chest gave out I started to walk again and walked behind a building to rest I heard music and shouting so me being curious I walked around the building to see it was a bar I peeked through the window and seen a plate of food sitting alone on a table so I put my hood on and snuck inside the door and grabbed it and took off out the door I ran around the building were I had left my suitcase and sat and started to eat the food I worked up a appetite running such a distance
It was exhausting
I heard more yelling and a gun shot so I jumped up and grabbed my stuff and took off again as I was running across the road a car sped towards me and stopped right in front of me not even inchs from my face the driver stepped out as I hesitated on running or staying he took off his glasses and bent down towards me I smelt the alcohol on his breath
"Little girl why are you in the street at 3am with a suitcase?"
I looked down at my feet I always do that when I'm nervous and I stuttered saying I runaway from my group home and explained why
He grabbed my shoulder
"Come with me"
I wondered if I shouldve ran but I didn't feel the need to and followed and got into his car
"You'll stay with me until I find a better home for you , your to young to be by yourself out in these streets you know."

Okay I replied and fiddled with my fingers I was nervous and scared and confused all at the same time .
We pulled into a huge mansion and he parked and got out , he opened my door and showed me inside of the home as soon as we came in like 6 people were asking him where was he and who was I
I got nervous again
"I found her on the street she's a runaway and we're keeping her damn it now I'm in charge don't fucking question my decisions "
They all nodded and turned away
He grabbed my hand and pulled me upstairs and opened a door
"Here's your room I have over 20 so there's space I hope u find yourself at home kid"
I nodded and entered the unknown room
He shut the door as I put my suitcase on the bed the room was big and very pretty it looked like something from a magazine and I've never even seen such nice furniture in real life .
I unpacked and sat on the bed wondering how my life was gonna change from this moment on.
