Nothing lasts forever

There will always be flame

To be hunted in a brave valiance

Within this dark and lonely world.

There will always be a torch,

To be held up in a glorious pride

Within the tunnel of this darkness.

There will always be a vial of light

To be found in the most somber times,

Within this expanse of emptiness.

There will always be a rainbow

To glimmer in our hearts instead of the tears,

Within the rain found inside and outside.

There will always be stars,

To be gazed at in those dark times,

Within these dark nights.

There will always be a person,

To love and be loved by, to catch you,

When you fall into the tenebrosity.

But what of it?

But what have they not told me?

But what lies lie in these supposed truths?

Every flame burns out.

Every torch is extinguished.

Every vial of light vanishes.

Every rainbow evanesces after the storm,

Every star disappeares when day comes.

And every heart will leave you eventually.

When the time comes, they'll leave.

He'll leave.

Because they all do.
