"HAPPY BLORTHOG!" Starfire shouts as she steps into the common room. I peek up from my (magazine/book/sketchbook) to see the redhead has several boxes in her arms. No one-besides me-notices the Tamaranean. My earbuds drown out whatever Starfire says, but I jump when she suddenly drops all the boxes. She pops up behind the couch where Cyborg and Beast Boy are wrestling over the game controller.

I sigh and roll my eyes before going back to my (reading/doodling).

"BEAST BOY!" Cyborg yells. I look back up to see Beast Boy siting on the back of the couch, gesturing to Raven angrily. Cyborg scowls and grabs the shapeshifter by his neck, yanking him over the couch. I wince as I feel my seat shake from Beast Boy hitting the floor. I look over to see Raven talking without taking her eyes off her book, Beast Boy's nail clippers floating by her head.

I pull one of my earbuds out with a confused look.

"Happiness and delight, friend," Starfire says as she holds out the string of bells to Raven. "On this wondrous day, I wish you sunshine and bunny-" the half-demon gives Star an annoyed look and the redhead backs up with a nervous laugh. Raven stares across the room to the kitchen where Robin is standing in front of a stereo, blasting hip-hop music in his face. "Robin, could the music be a little louder? I can still hear myself think."

"I only turned the music up to DROWN OUT ALL THE YELLING!" the Boy Wonder shouts. I let out a little snort when suddenly, something is draped around my neck.

"Wha-what is this?" I ask as I look up at Starfire, who's standing in front of me.

"It is a Tinnabula," the redhead states with a big smile. "It-" I bring my hand up and she immediately stops talking with a dejected look. Beast Boy suddenly runs past us with the controller, but Cyborg pulls him into a headlock and begins to taunt him.

"Knock it off! I can't work with you two acting like idiots!" Robin shouts.

"Great, Robin. More yelling will definitely stop all the yelling." The black haired leader turns to Raven and grits his teeth. Cyborg runs past, screaming with Beast Boy-in bear from-chasing him around the common room.

"Friends, please!" Starfire begs. "You must not. If we could simply-"

"Starfire," I interrupt. "They do this all the time. There's nothing to be worried about-" Suddenly Cyborg breaks a second string of bells in the redhead's hands as he gloats about finally getting the controller. The bells bounce a little when they hit the floor before rolling away. Tears begin to well in the redhead's eyes and she lets out a scream, stopping everyone in their tracks. "Woah."

"Friends must never behave this way, and especially not on Blorthog! Do you wish to invite the Rekmas?"

"Gesundheit?" Beast Boy says.

"On my world, 'Rekmas' means 'the Drifting'. The point at which close friends begin to drift apart, and their friendship begins to die."

"Aw, come on, Starfire," Cyborg says.

"We are so not Rek-whatever-ing," Beast Boy protests.

"We're getting on each other's nerves a little. Big deal," Raven says.

"Yeah. This is just typical roommate stuff. We're not going to drift apart, Star. I promise. We'll all be friends forever," Robin says with a forced smile.
