I adore the songs
that make me imagine
a steamy spa
with frosty windows
it's an intimate massage
ice to sooth my scars
release
and relaxation
reluctant rain in winter
brings pattering on the roof
droplets drumming their own rhythm
serendipitous serenity
peaks and valleys of life
they roll like a reese
the tranquil tremolo
will come and go
and warm keys
can put one at ease
so when my mind starts to sway
and I'm thinking stay
please stay
I take comfort in the caress of the chords
I feel the bass echo through me
and I just bathe in it
like the whistling wind it carries me whole
It nurtures my soul
reminds me
to breathe deep
and let go
