authors note hi guys, i just wanted to share my story just so you all know that racism is never okay and to please tell someone if you have been or if someone you know has been racially abused.
Okay so, when i was younger i went to a mainly white dominated primary school and there i received many racist comments and obviously since i was a child i never really understood it. The kids would say they didn't want to play with me or hold my hands because of my skin colour and they'd make that obvious, but i thought it was because i was weird, and ever since that id felt insecure about my skin colour. Then when i'd gone to highschool i had got called the N word multiple times, and when i was in an argument with this girl she called me a monkey. And obviously since i was older i understood what it meant but i never told anyone about that and it was wrong. Still till this day i get called the N word and even worse things like "a cotton picker" and i just wanted yous all to know that this is NEVER okay. No matter how much you hate someone never ever bring race into it. I have spent years being insecure about my skin colour because of what other people say and i should never ever have to feel like that. So please if someone has called you anything racist tell someone because it's not okay.
It might be random but, the amount of racism that the footballers have been through just because they missed a goal? it's not okay. it happened at the euros and now it's started to happen again, and it's never okay. No matter who you are you don't deserve to be racially abused.
