friday rolled around faster than robin had realized, and she was currently getting ready to go out with warren. after their last date, robin couldn't wait to see him again. she did want to however make it clear that she wasn't ready for some kind of serious relationship, and just wanted to be casual.

she had her layered auburn hair in rollers to create that farrah fawcett style blowout, as she allowed a light face of makeup, mainly focusing on a green/brown makeup look, with a peachy pink lip. she was wearing a simple, yet cute outfit. a deep red knit halter top, a pair of dark brown corduroy bell bottoms, and her black gogo boots. she accessorized with a matching dark red neckscarf, as well as big gold hoops.

at around seven fifty, she removed her rollers, sprayed so much hairspray that her hair could stay in place in a level four hurricane, and waited in her living room for warren to arrive. at exactly eight o'clock, robin heard a knock at her door. she got up, grabbed her purse and open the door, where she was met with a smiling warren.

robin closed the door behind her. "hi warren! how are you"?

"i'm good.. been good.. how about you"? he asked, opening the door to his van for robin.

"it's been a busy week.. i've been trying to find a job photographing for a newspaper, but the only ones i'm able to find are for photographing boring stuff.. not what i wanna do".

warren nodded, starting the car and pulling out of the driveway. "what do you wanna do"?

"i wanna be on the road, photographing bands, you know"?

"you wanna be a roadie? that's sick. hey, if the dunne brothers get big we could definitely hook you up".

robin smiled. "oh i'm counting on it. i know you guys are gonna make it big".

the date went great. the two ended up just going to a pub, where they sat on the outdoor patio, sipping cocktails and chatting away about everything, mainly music. warren had asked robin if she'd photograph some pictures at the bands next gig, to which she of course obliged.

she was grateful to have someone like warren in her life, giving her these opportunities that she struggled so hard to find on her own. she liked warren. at least she thought she did. robin was never good at figuring out the difference between platonic and romantic attraction.

after the pub, the two drove down to the beach, where they skipped rocks across the cold pacific water, as warren blasted a pink floyd tape in the car, all windows down so the two could hear the music.

after warren dropped robin back off at home, she called camila and told her all about it. camila was happy for robin, but she couldn't help but notice something seemed off about the way she was speaking about him. she would say words that someone who was head over heels for someone would say, but her tone didn't match the words. it was like what she was saying wasn't true.

camila would've never pried at robin, or questioned her about this, but camila was an empath. she could always tell if something was going on.

fast forward to 71', and robin was backstage with the dunne brothers, just finished opening for a band called 'The Winters'. as warren promised two years earlier, robin was in charge of photography, to hand the photos into the local paper for publicity. warren and robin were in an off and on relationship, but even during the 'off' times, they were still best friends.

warren could tell that there was something not genuine about robin when they were together, but that she was completely herself when they were just friends. he wasn't sure what was going on, but was starting to think that maybe they should just be friends.

as the winters got on stage, robin was immediately drawn to their keyboardist, who the frontman introduced as 'karen sirko'. she was stunning. tall, blonde feathered hair, big brown eyes and impeccible style. she seemed like a very nonchalant person, which robin seemed to like. she wasn't the only one however.. graham dunne had also noticed the keyboardist, and was gawking over her the whole time.

"get a grip, graham". warren elbowed him in the side.

robin headed down to the front of the stage, where she would be taking her photos. the band started to play, and robin fiddled with her camera, snapping photos of the band. by the end of the show, she had about fifty photos to go through. she made her way backstage, where the band was just getting off.

robin watched as the band introduced themselves to the dunne brothers. robin couldn't help but feel a slight ping of jealousy as she watched graham and karen converse, graham clearly trying to pick up karen.

warren drove robin home that night, and when they got to the door, robin decided that she needed to tell him what was going on, and why she might seem a little bit cold hearted and strange with him.

the two walked up to the porch, and robin couldn't keep it in anymore. "warren... i think we should just be friends"..

"i thought you were interested... it's okay, i get that". he replied, smiling, but still looking. disappointed.

"it's not because of you, i promise. warren, you're probably the most amazing guy i've ever met, and i do like you, but i think it's in a platonic way".

"it's okay robin, really. i'm okay with that".

"there is one other thing though.. i think the reason i'm not really into you romantically is because.. you're not really my type".

warren furrowed his brows, looking. even more hurt. "what? are you calling me ugly"?

"oh my god, no not at all. i could go on and on about how handsome you are.. it's just.. i think i'd be more into someone like.. christine mcvie".. robins heart was beating so rapidly, she wouldn't be surprised if warren could hear it.

"huh? but.. christine mcvie is a girl".. warren was extremely confused, furrowing his brows.

"warren.. use your brain". tears were now filling robins eyes. she was petrified. admitting to this could not only ruin their friendship, but also put her in danger.

warrens brows were furrowed in confusion, before his face dropped in realization. "oh".

"yeah"..

the two sat in silence for a solid minute. tears were streaming down robins face , as warren thought about what she had said. after a minute, he pulled robin into his arms and hugged her. kissing the top of her head.

"i cant blame you.. christine is gorgeous.. stevie's way hotter though".. warren was still shocked, but after that minute of thinking about it, he realized that robin was still robin, the girl he had come to really enjoy being around. her wanting to be with a woman didn't change anything, because she was still like that when he had met her.

robin chuckled through her tears, pulling back and looking up at warren, who wiped her tears away with his thumb. "you're not mad"?

"it's definitely gonna take some getting used to, but of course i'm not mad. if anything i'm happy you felt comfortable enough to talk to me about it.. so are you a.. what's it called.. lesbian"?

robin chuckled. "no.. no i'm not.. have you heard of being bisexual"?

"what's that"?

"it's like a mix between gay and straight.. you like women and men.. you know, like david bowie"?

warrens brows furrowed in confusion once more. "you don't have to pick one"?

robin chuckled. "no, you can like both warren".

"okay... yeah i think i understand.. swinging both ways.. does camila know"?

"no not yet.. you're the first person i've told actually"...

"oh please.. camilas like.. a total hippie. she'd be so cool with it". warren smiled, reassuring robin.

"you're probably right. thank you warren, i really really appreciate you".

"of course robin. nothing could make me hate you".
