Ayanokoji Kiyotaka's POV:

The sports festival was over. It is starting to get chilly outside as mid-October was approaching. I walked out of the gymnasium after the ceremony to honor the outgoing members of the student council. Horikita Manabu just retired from his position of Student council President and Nagumo Miyabi from Class-2A took over his position, it was a great ceremony.

While walking back to class, I saw a cute sight of a timid looking girl, she should show this side of her more often...

"You know he can't keep the president position all to himself." I said to Horikita,

"I know that..." she tried to glare at me, but her timid side is dominating now, "I'm just sad that his graduation is getting closer, I won't see him for another two years and I...I'm...I'm afraid that I won't be able to prove to him that I changed..."

She's thinking about his graduation? She knows we can't reach Class-A by his graduation, right?

"Of course, I know we can't reach Class-A by his graduation, Ayanokoji-kun!" said Horikita, frostily

"Did I say that out loud?" I asked, in confusion

"No, it's obvious what you're thinking." Horikita sighed,

Ah, she read my mind. But still, she haven't realized what her brother wants from her. I saw she started walking back to class, but I called her out,

"Horikita," She turned to me, "Why do you want to catch up or prove to your brother so badly?" I asked in genuine confusion.

Her reaction showed she was caught off guard by question, "Why the sudden question, Ayanokoji-kun?" she asked,

"I'm just curious," Well, there was other reason too,

Horikita sighed, "My brother was my role modal growing up. I saw my parents praise him everytime he scores top in the class or whenever he learns a new skill. I wanted to be like him, that's why I studied hard and learned every skill which my brother learned. My parents were really happy with my progress..." Horikita suddenly turned sad, "...but my brother never praised me, when I started my middle-school, he started to avoid me, I was very sad and in fact it even angered me a bit... that's why, I came to this school, to show my brother how much I've improved myself." Horikita finished her story,

I facepalmed myself, the answer was right in front of her but she couldn't catch it,

"Horikita, all this time you said how hard you've worked and how you wanted your brother to acknowledge you..." Horikita nodded at my statement, "but, have you ever thought what your brother wanted from you?" I asked,

"Yes, he wasn't happy with how much I've achieved, that's why he was disappointed with me." Horikita said as if it was most obvious thing,

"Did he say that to you?" I asked, Horikita went silent at my question,
