Once we made it to the pack territory, we were stopped by a patrol. They looked at me and my documents, seeming wary of my presence.

"Lilian Shaw, welcome to Lunar Syndicate. Our Beta has asked that we contact him upon your arrival. He'll be here shortly and escort you personally," he states professionally. He looks towards Donny, and his face shifts into one of distaste. "You're free to go, wolf."

"I'd prefer he'd stay," I reply swiftly. The patrol looks upset but nods his head forcefully.

When the Beta showed up, he looked just as annoyed. He gave a gruff smile and walked toward us. "Ms. Shaw, glad you made it."

"Thanks for coming, Beta," I say with a monotone voice.

"Our Alpha asked for me to brief you on your position," he says, getting straight to business.

The Beta continued, "You've been assigned as the witch of our pack, a role we haven't filled in quite some time. You'll be responsible for assisting with our rituals, potions, and various magical needs. But I must emphasize that our Alpha is cautiously optimistic about this arrangement, given our history with a witch."

I nodded, understanding the apprehension that stemmed from the past witch's actions. "I'm here to work collaboratively with the pack and support your magical needs while respecting the pack's rules and traditions."

Donny shifted uneasily beside me, but I offered him a reassuring glance.

The Beta continued, "Your immediate duties will include helping prepare for the upcoming Lunar Eclipse celebration. It's a significant event in our pack, and your contributions will be closely monitored."

"I'll do my best," I replied, determined to prove myself to the pack. But also keep my job. I loved to admit I was getting paid pretty good.

The Beta then led us further into the territory, explaining the pack's dynamics and showing us the way to my new home. As we walked through the lush forested area and passed by some pack members, I couldn't help but notice the mixed reactions to my presence. Some welcomed me with friendly smiles, while others regarded me with skepticism.

Donny whispered, "You've got your work cut out for you, Lilian."

I sighed, "Yeah, it seems that way, but I'm up for the challenge."

The beta stopped us in front of my new home and I was shook.

"The Alpha requested a meeting with you sometime tomorrow. Please inform him, we've supplied the necessary devices located in your bedroom" he inform.

I nod my head thankfully. "Thank you be-"

He walked out the door before I could finish. His loss, I am a privilege to be around. As I entered my new home, I was immediately taken aback by the sheer elegance and opulence of the place.

It was a stark contrast to my previous life, and I couldn't help but feel a mixture of shock and awe. Ma and Nonna would be shocked to see this.

The exterior of the house exuded grandeur. It was a spacious two-story building made of rich, dark wood, with a steeply pitched roof and intricate, wrought iron accents.

The landscaped garden that surrounded the house was meticulously maintained, with vibrant, colorful flowers and manicured hedges. A cobblestone pathway led to the front entrance, adding to the overall charm.

The inside of the house was just as impressive. The foyer was adorned with a crystal chandelier that bathed the room in a warm, welcoming light. The walls were painted a soothing, pale lavender, and the hardwood floors gleamed with a polished finish.

The living room was a spacious area with high ceilings, large windows that let in plenty of natural light, and plush, comfortable furniture. The decor was a blend of modern and traditional styles, with elegant pieces of art and intricately carved wooden accents.

The kitchen was a chef's dream, featuring granite countertops, top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, and a large island with barstools for casual dining. It was a far cry from the tiny, cramped kitchen I had grown up with.

Upstairs, the master bedroom was a sanctuary of luxury. A king-sized bed with a tufted, velvet headboard took center stage, and the room was adorned with sumptuous silk drapes that framed the windows. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a soft, romantic glow. The en-suite bathroom was a spa-like retreat, complete with a deep soaking tub and a separate glass-enclosed shower.

Donny and I exchanged wide-eyed glances as we explored the house. It was clear that the pack had spared no expense in providing me with a home that was not only functional but also a testament to their wealth and status.

"This is...wow," Donny finally managed to say, clearly as awestruck as I was.

I couldn't help but share his sentiment. "This is fucking crazy"

"Too bad, I'm not allowed visitors" I say bummed. "Nonna would love the pool"

Donny nods in agreement. "All with given time."

Donny and I began the process of unloading my belongings and settling into my new home. There wasn't much to unpack in comparison to the house. I realized, this place was missing something. It was missing a touch of me.

When we finally finished getting my shit inside. I invited Donny to dinner but he refused and said next time he'd come over he'd accept.

"I think imma get lost" I say looking at my new home. Donny also looks impressed by its view.

"No shade towards you but, Fuck the rich" he says with a full chest. "I'll see you tomorrow alright? Stay outta trouble home slice"

"Don't I always?" I question and smile. He gets into his truck and soon zooms away.

Looking around my new home was wild. It was chemically altering to my brain that I had actually done it.
