Chapter 15: Acting Like Kids

"Yes, I'm sure." Raven linked.

She really caught me off guard. I thought her surprise would be to take Onyx out on a date or something not to have her sight back.

That was truly a surprise. It took all I got not to show the surprise on my face because Onyx was watching for my reaction the whole time.

As his brother, I'm proud that she's taking a step forward and glad that she finally had someone to open her eyes, literally.

I guess dad and I weren't enough to convince her that going blind wasn't the solution, although it did help, I think.

But I'm also worried that she might hallucinate again. I don't want her to go through that again. I don't want her to suffer yet again.

"Why so sudden? Why now?" I linked.

Back then she was so eager to have her sight taken away, but why does she want it now? I know it's obviously for Onyx but is she really ready?

"No point being blind and having that dream at the same time. When I wake up because of that dream I would rather see my mate's face than to see total darkness. I can cope with hallucinations, if I'll have any. And besides, I've got you two by my side to drag me back to reality if ever I drift away." She linked back.

I smiled to myself, she really did think this through. I guess there's no helping it. If that's what she wants then the only thing I can do is to support her.

"Alright, your choice. But not right this moment alright? I still need to contact dad and tell him the news then come up with a plan to stall Onyx or temporarily get rid of him during your operation." I linked.

I saw her smile from ear to ear and I couldn't help but smile as well. She's growing up so fast. I feel like a father watching his daughter grow up rather than a brother watching his sister take a step forward.

"Your the best Zeth! I love my brother. By the way, I'm not mentally prepared yet so the operation can wait for a month or two." She linked then severed our private conversation.

Sheeesh, and I thought she was gonna say next week. This girl, she says the most unbelievable things sometimes.

"What did you talk about?" Onyx asked Rave.

Man, this guy's jealousy is also unbelievable. I feel like a third wheel in this room. If they're going to be all lovey-dovey atleast not in my face or atleast not infront of me. It's making me feel kinda lonely and also awkward. I mean hello? Older brother in the room.

I left the room without letting them know, not like they'll listen anyway. Wolves with mates are so easily distracted. I bet they didn't even notice that I left.

I went out to take a call. I dialed dad's number to let him know. I'm sure he'll be just as surprised as I was.

After the third ring he finally picked up. Too slow old man.

"Zeth? Is something wrong?" Dad asked.

Nice one dad. No hi or hello? Sheesh, what an insensitive old man.

I tapped my phone near it's speaker. That's how I usually communicate when taking calls. Its kinda like a secret code for us since I can't link them across countries. The only ones who can understand what I'm tapping are dad, Rave and the beta. The third is slowly trying to learn it.

I tapped saying I was fine and I had good and bad news.

"Bad news first." He said and waited for my response.
