Aurora’s POV

“Okay, Aurora,” a police officer said as he walked into the room. “Are you ready?”

No. I was anything but ready. I didn’t want to do this.

“Aurora?” he called me when I didn’t respond.

I felt Sebastian tighten his hold on my hand.

“She is ready,” my dad said. “Let’s get this over with.”

The police officer glanced at my dad before looking back at me.

“Okay,” he said as he sat down and placed a file on the desk. “This won’t take long, Aurora. We just need to make sure that we have all the facts. We need to make sure that his defense can’t use any inconsistencies as a way to get him out of being punished.”

My stomach twisted thinking about the possibility of them using that video against me. They would do it, wouldn't they? They would try to use it to prove that I was a whore. They would try to use it to prove that I wanted Bruno to…

“Rory?” Sebastian called me and I looked at him.

He sighed and caressed my cheek.

“I’m here,” he said softly. “Everything will be okay.”

I gulped and looked back at the police officer. I am pretty sure he told me his name before, but I couldn't remember it.

“Were you ever sexually involved with Bruno before the incident?” he asked as he opened the file and pulled out a pen from the pocket on his shirt.

“No,” I said quietly, tightening my hold on Sebastian’s hand.

The police officer nodded and wrote something down on the paper in front of him.

“Did Bruno ever approach you before that?” he asked. “Did he show any interest in you?”

“No,” I said.

“He did,” Sebastian added angrily. “But he never told her anything. I didn't let him.”

My dad mumbled a curse under his breath. The police officer looked at Sebastian.

“Can you tell me more about that?” he asked, writing something down on the paper again.

“Bruno liked her,” Sebastian said. “He always spoke about wanting to have her. He was always annoyed at me because I wouldn't let him near her.”

My mom took my other hand in hers and squeezed it. I kept my eyes on the police officer. He kept nodding and writing things down on the paper. He looked back up at me when he finished and he gave me a small smile.

“Can you tell me what you remember about that night?” he asked and I took a deep breath.

“It’s okay, honey,” my mom said, stroking my hair. “We are all here with you.”

I only really wanted Sebastian to be there with me. But I wasn’t going to say that to my parents.

“I arrived at the party with my friend,” I started saying and the police officer immediately started writing again. “We met a few of our other friends there and we started hanging out.”

“Were you drinking?” the police officer asked, not looking up at me.

“I wasn’t really in the mood to drink,” I said. “I poured myself one drink and I slowly sipped it through the night. I didn’t even finish it.”

I got sick before I managed to drink everything.

“Did you ever lay down your cup?” the police officer asked.
