Waited till the end of this book to write this. This isn't really a chapter just some stuff I wanted to write about Kai and his personalities

Personalities/Alters

What I'm putting here is how the personalities came to be which also explains a bit of Kai's backstory

Chester (1st): Kai's parents weren't always at home either working or so tired they barely paid attention to him. So he was mainly taken care of by his Grandfather. Even though he gets frustrated due to his sore back and legs and would sometimes snap at Kai he still loves and cares for the man. He learnt a lot of things from him some good some gross like how he taught Kai how to burp loudly. But when he passes away Kai loses the one person who matters most to him. He was frustrated, angry, and grieving. When he needed his Grandfathers advice he would act like him pretending to be him and give himself the advice that he would normally give him. He would do this over and over until Chester manifested

Svetlana (2nd): Before Kai was born his mother loved gymnastics she even participated in the sport. She was talented at it she was set for the Olympics until she injured her leg due to complications with the equipment she was using forcing her to retire before she could progress further. Kai had discovered this from the photos and rewards he found hidden in his mother's desk. He also heard stories of his mother being a prodigy from his grandfather. Kai decided to practice the sport wanting to be as skilled as his mother so she could be proud of him. He even watched a ton of people performing at the Olympics on his TV. A lot of the winners were Russian he quite liked the accent. As Kai got better and better he was hoping his mother would want to be more involved with him but she didn't care too much and with the recent loss of his Grandfather Kai absorbed himself into the sport. It became his getaway protecting him from his parent's neglect and having to remember the passing of his Grandpa. Due to all of these factors mixing together, Svetlana manifested

Vito (3rd): On the rare occasion his parents sometimes take him out to do stuff. Kai discovered a Circus would be set up in his town and begged his mother to go since he loved elephants he even wore a T-Shirt with the face of one. His mother relented and took him Kai was holding onto her hand and looking around but he let go to get a closer look he turned around and found out he lost her. Kai quickly got scared and tried looking for her. As he search he bumped into something he looked up and that's when he came face to face with a clown. Its sickening wide smile, the pale make-up, and the soulless eyes terrified Kai. He tried running but everywhere he went he saw the face the disturbingly large smile and blank eyes were scared into Kai's head. He quickly found his mother and went home she was annoyed for having come here for nothing but she didn't really like Circus so she didn't really complain. The whole way home Kai was shivering in his seat every time he closed his eyes he would see the clown's face. The Circus quite literally traumatised him which manifested Vito because Vito is someone tough, someone confident, someone who doesn't get scared. He oozed confidence and was basically Kai's way of feeling protected from the things he feared most

Manitoba (4th): Kai's last personality. Some children tend to run away but due to not having the means to survive they would come home for food, water, and a bed. Over the years the neglect from his parents got worse and worse. When he tried explaining his struggles with his previous personalities it would go unheard a nod or a hum was how they'd answer so he'd leave them alone. All he got from them was dinner. He prepared his own breakfast and lunch (poorly might I add). He didn't have to worry about clothes thanks to a cousin who gave him some when he outgrew them. The idea of running away was constantly itching at the back of his mind but he had no idea how to survive. He found TV shows and videos online of Australian explorers videoing themselves surviving with nothing but a knife, their fists, and their wits. Kai was inspired by them he even perfected the Australian accent pretending he was an Australian explorer and like with Chester this obsession resulted in Manitoba's creation being Kai's support when he need to survive in the harsh environments

This is how I believe each of Kai's/Mikes personalities came to be

Backstory: Due to a fight that caused him and his alters to be constantly at war. Before he could typically rely on them when he felt stressed which happened quite frequently he always had someone to comfort him. His wise grandfather figure, a skilled Olympian who always looked out for him like a mother, he had a strong and confident tough guy who could protect him, and he had an Australian explorer who was a role model to him he is smart, calm under pressure and intensely focused. Kai spent years trying to keep his personalities from ruining everything for him. He failed to make friends and he was working some crappy night shift at a job by himself. When he was walking home he spotted a billboard "Prepare for the newest reality TV series 22 campers live on an island to compete for a hundred grand this show is called Total Drama Island! (Accepting auditions must be 16+). Kai thought about it. He could meet people who didn't know him, didn't know about his condition, people whom he could befriend and finally feel accepted by. Kai wrote down the address to send his audition tape and headed home. He didn't bother asking for permission since his parents wouldn't care. They didn't show a reaction to what Censored did, they didn't visit him in Juvy, they didn't even come to his trial. If he won the prize money he'll move out
