""Hazel asked bluntly, 'Did y'all fuck?'"

"Omg, no Hazel," I said, shooting my best friend a look as if she'd stolen something.

"Hey, I'm just asking 'cause I know that man's sexy as fuck and you ain't got none in a while," she said, casually playing with her nails.

"Well, my sex life is not really your business, Hazel," I replied defensively.

"Um, yes it is, baby. You need some dick in your life. All that kissing that nigga you doing ain't doing shit but making you a horny freak," Hazel said, standing up.

"Girl, I'm alright. I don't need dick. I'm fine," I insisted, rolling my eyes.

"Yeah, right, girl. Anyways, I have work, so I'll see you tomorrow," Hazel said, gathering her stuff and kissing me on my forehead before leaving my house.

Hazel's POV:

After I left Sky's house, I made my way back home to get ready for work. I grabbed my charger and my phone, parked my car, and headed to my front door, unlocking it.
"Is that you, bae?" my boyfriend, Shawn, called out from the living room.

"Yeah, it's me," I replied, walking into the living room.

"Hey, baby, how are you?" Shawn asked, looking up from his spot.

"I'm fine. I have to go to work soon, which is really annoying. What about you?"

"I'm fine. I just got home from work about two hours ago. I made food; it's on the stove," Shawn said, gesturing towards the kitchen.

"I'm so glad I have you," I said, getting up and kissing him before heading into the kitchen to see what he'd cooked.

The scent of rice and stew hit me, making my stomach growl. "I should suck this man's dick," I thought to myself, before grabbing a plate and filling it up with food, then gobbling it down.

Twenty minutes later, I was done, and it was time to head to work.

Gathering her belongings, Hazel took a moment to check her reflection in the hallway mirror, ensuring that she looked every bit the professional nurse she aspired to be. Satisfied with her appearance, she slipped on her shoes and made her way to the door, the soft glow of the evening sun casting a warm hue over the surroundings.

Exiting her house, Hazel was greeted by the cool evening breeze, the gentle rustle of leaves providing a soothing backdrop to the end of her day. She made her way to her car, the familiar routine
grounding her as she settled into the
driver's seat and started the engine.

As she drove towards the hospital, Hazel couldn't help but reflect on the events that was about to happen today. It was going to be a challenging shift, filled with moments of both triumph and frustration, but she was grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of her patients.

Arriving at the hospital, Hazel navigated the parking lot with ease, expertly maneuvering her car into a vacant spot. With a sense of purpose, she gathered her belongings and made her way towards the entrance, the fading light of the evening sky casting long shadows across the pavement.

Stepping through the doors, Hazel felt a sense of accomplishment wash over her. Despite the long hours and the occasional setbacks, she knew that she had given her all to her patients, and that was enough to bring her a sense of fulfillment unlike any other.

Sky's POV:

I was finally home after a long day, and as I settled into the quiet of my living room, I realized just how bored I was. With Haven finally asleep, I decided to give Hazel's mom a call. It had been a while since we last spoke, and I missed catching up with her.

She answered on the third ring, her warm voice instantly putting me at ease.

"Hi, baby," she greeted me affectionately.

"Hey, mamá, how have you been?" I asked, eager to hear about her life.

"I've been good. What about you?" she replied, concern laced in her tone.

"Haven and your child have been tearing my ass up," I chuckled, knowing she would understand the challenges of parenthood. "And, girl, you know how I told you about James's hot brother, Ambrose? Well, guess what? He's my boss now."

"Girl, what?!" she exclaimed, clearly surprised by the revelation.

"Yeah, it's wild. And, he hasn't heard from James in four years," I continued, knowing she would find the situation just as perplexing as I did.

"Do you really believe that?" she asked, her skepticism evident even over the phone.

"Yup, they never got along. Plus, he's lowkey trying to hook up with me. We even kissed," I confessed, feeling a rush of adrenaline at the memory.

"Omg, y'all kissed?" she gasped, clearly taken aback by the revelation.

"Yup," I confirmed with a laugh. "My life is crazy, mamá."

Mama: Wow, sky , that's quite the situation you've found yourself in. Just be careful, okay? You know how things can get complicated when it comes to mixing business with pleasure.

Me: I know, mamá. I'm trying to keep things professional, but it's hard when there's so much tension between us.

Mama: Tension, huh? Sounds like there might be more to this story than you're letting on.

Me: "Don't worry, Mom. I've got it handled. But enough about me, how have you been? How's work and everything else?"

Mama: "Oh, you know, same old. Work's been keeping me busy, but we're managing. How's Haven doing?"

Me: "She's a handful, as always, but she's doing well. She misses you, though. We both do."

Mama: "I miss you both too, sweetheart. I wish I could visit more often, but you know how it is."

Me: "I understand, Mom. We'll plan a visit soon, I promise."

Mama: "That would be lovely. And what about this James's brother situation? Do you really think he hasn't heard from James in years?"

Me: "Honestly, I don't know what to believe. "

Mama: " be careful. You never know what his intentions are."

Me: "I will, Mom. Thanks for looking out for me."

Mama: "Of course, sweetheart. You know I'll always be here for you. Now, take care of yourself and Haven, okay? And give her a big hug from Grandma."

Me: "I will, Mom. Love you."

Mama: "Love you too, sky. Talk to you soon."

Me: "Bye."
