"Percy, wake up."

Salt water splashed my face. Rayn was shaking my shoulder.

I'm the distance the sun was setting behind a city skyline. I could see the beach, filled with palm trees, stores and a harbour full of yachts.

"Miami, I think," Rayn said. "But the hippocampi are acting funny."

The horses had slowed down and were whining and spinning in circles. They didn't seem very happy. I could tell what they were thinking.

"This is as far as they'll take us," one said. "Too many humans. Too much pollution. We'll have to swim to shore on our own."

"That's impossible!" Clarisse said.

"Thalias tree must be almost dead," Grover wailed. "We have to get the Fleece back, tonight."

Rayn slumped down onto the pavement. "How are we supposed to do that?" Her voice trembled. "We're hundreds of miles away. No money. No ride."

"This is just like the Oracle said." Clarisse said. "This is your fault, Jackson! If you hadn't interfered—"

"Percy's fault!?" Annabeth exploded. "Clarisse, how can you say that? You are the biggest—"
