"fuck someone else and move on" quinn let out a puff of smoke, the joint sitting in her right hand 

there rue was back at 'the extacy'. she practiced some chord progressions, well. she tried to practice. leighton's thoughts weren't exactly helping her. quinn noticed and asked what was wrong, rue explained as the whole band listened about her leighton situation. 

"yeah i am really struggling to do that right now" rue sarcastically commented 

"bro i don't know what you should do but i am gonna tell you're like balls deep in this shit" flynn shrugged earning a smack from quinn when she heard the nickname 

"i don't know guys" rue sighed "ughh why does it have to be so complicated" rue groaned leaning forward over her guitar in frustration 

"tell her the damn truth" aiden stood, his bak turned to the rest of the squad, he turned around, a toothpick in his hand 

"i just said-" rue started 

"yeah, you said you were scared, blah blah" he made a motion with his hand "how long are you gonna spend being scared? untill she finds someone new? falls in love?" he exaggerated "she'll fuckin' move on, rue. she's not gonna sit around waiting for you to accept your mistake. so suck it up and tell her the truth, every bit of it. or just regret it" he brought his hand up in a shrugging pose as he walked backwards "choice is yours" he walked out 

"what's with him?" flynn asked setting his drink down. 

"bitch get ready" kayla shouted when the three were in the common room doing their separate things "theta's charter is back and they're throwing threesome thursday"

"i-" rue looked at her confused "today's thursday" 

the three got to the party, thanks to brandon they didn't have to wait in the long line. rue did not waste any time in getting drinks and chugging them down. 

"woah, slow down" whitney's voice was heard from beside rue. she glanced over to see "where are your friends?" 

"whitney, hey" she greeted the girl a bit surprised that she was talking to her 

"well, abby's over there with brandon. kayla was here but not anymo-" she looked at bela "i am sorry, are you wearing a toddler's shirt?" 

"yeah, nothing makes your boobs pop than a child's t shirt" bela slapped her chest, kimberley gave rue a look 

"that's" rue shook her head "new, and disturbing"  rue went back to drinking as leighton walked away 

"i gotta pee" rue told kayla after a wjile, when the girl decided to join her back. 

rue barely made it to the restroom, stumbling on every single thing. she and opened it to see, leighton? with kimberly who was in her undergarments 

"i-" rue gave them a ouzzled look "what?" 

"she's helping me to inject my hormones which will make me produce a ton of eggs" kimberly explained in one breath 

"does it make sense or am i drunk?" she whispered furrowing her eyebrows as she squinted her "i am head- go back" she slurred her words before walking out 

for the rest of the week rue decided to stay back and catch up on her classes instead of going to theta parties as she knew she would run into leighton again. yes, she heard what aiden told her and yes, his words got through to her but she was waiting for the right moment.

as if on queue she saw leighton in the hallways. 

"hey" much to rue's surprise, leighton called her 

"hi, leighton" she took a deep breath in as she took her earbuds off "what's up?" 

"are you busy right now?" 

"uh" she was headed to her computer applications class "no, not really" she looked around "why?" 

rue sat on the driver's seat as the two sat in the back. she could hear them talk but decided to tune them out and focus on the radio

"so where exactly are we headed in boston?" rue glances at the two once they were stopped at a red light 

"i'll send you the location of the fertility clinic" kimberly said as rue put in the location in the car's gps "rue thank you so much for doing this, you're missing the theta party"

"no no, don't worry about that. i have zero interest in those parties, i'd rather drive" rue reassured the girl 

rue and leighton sat awkwardly beside kimberley while she was knocked out. leighton on her phone and rue looking around.

 leighton lifted her eyes from her phone and looked at rue, no she really looked at rue. rue's lips were puckered, she blinked often when she looked around. yes, leighton had so many feelings for rue. anger, resentment, regret. but above all she still couldn't stop herself from falling, again. 

"kimberly, you're awake" rue said when she noticed the girl openeing her eyes slowly "you did amazing, they said you gave like 30 eggs" she smiled at kimberley 

"is that good?" 

"that's like insanely good" rue assured her 

"rue, can i tell you a secret?" kimberly tiredly asked 

"yeah, what's up?" 

"you messed up but now you're so sincerely in love with leighton and you wanna make it right, you're owning your mistake and issues, and i admire you for that" kimberly's words made rue's eyes wide, gosh did she hate boston. 

yeah, this is gonna be a long ride back 

rue drove when leighton sat on the backseat and kimberly slept beside her 

"i will be right back" rue said as she held up the list of snacks kimberly wrote before she fell asleep 

"i'll go with you" leighton got out of the car at the same time as rue, both walking to the store 

"so uh" rue started after about 5 minutes of them picking out snacks in the store "you think she'll be fine in the car there?" 

"yeah, you uh you locked the doors right?" leighton fiddled with her fingers walking behind rue who held the cart

"mmhm" rue nodded before sighing when she turned around to face the blonde "i can't do this anymore. i-" she sighed again "kimberly said the truth and we both heard it" 

rue's mind filled with aiden's words from earlier 

'so suck it up and tell her the truth, every bit of it. or just regret it' 

"what are you trying to say?" leighton avoided eye contact

"i am sucking it up and telling you the truth" she looked at leighton not breaking away "i broke up with you and i regret it. i didn't want to but- but at that time i thought it was for the best and i-" her voice broke, she looked around fighting back the tears "i miss you, leighton. i miss us" it felt weird, to be open like that. 

"i miss you too, rue but i don't know anymore. you left me without any explaination and i was left just wondering what was so wrong with me" leighton finally looked back at rue, a swarm of emotions engulfed her 

"hey no, i am- i am so sorry i did that to you" rue took a step forward to hold leighton's face to make the blonde look at her. "give me another chance, please?" 

leighton didn't say anything but her eyes conveyed all the words, the emotions. rue took it as a sign as she leaned in making leighton lean up and meet her lips halfway. rue felt something so strong when their lips connected, she felt complete. 

"i-" leighton suddenly pulled away "i don't think i can do this with you" she shook her head when she avoided eye contact. tears in her eyes threatening to fall 

"no, leight, don't do this" rue pleaded in a whisper before her eyes followed leighton's back out of the store
