City Walks

Two of them walk on smooth stones
Under famous city lights.
She's stuck deep in a concrete rut
Between two walls of her rampant thoughts.

Many true moments hang with them
Warm golden lamps,
Glittering towers that scrape the sky,
Smiling at her; coaxing.

Long ago these two were different.
Emotions played a twisted game
The plot was lost to easy affection
...but here, love wants to join in.

But not now. Time, to her; a weary friend.
The streets sigh disappointedly
And swallows them in friendliness again,
Where one will forever be.
