Pitter pat

Myriads of tiny stones are hurled
Upon the carriage roof.
The wet fields assume some distant laughing
And the passengers huddle close
Into darkened coats.

Cracks are streaming down the glass
And breaking into orbs,
Clearly transparent on winter's harsh
And foreboding clouds.
The wind mopes.
