There are times in the life of a book nerd when it becomes a lonely road. When you are tired of being a fangirl or fanboy of one and you just wont someone to gush over books with. So you turn to your friends. I'm mean, sure they don't read, but you think you can change them, so you recommend them books and even go as far as loaning them your own books if only they will read them

You become desperate. Very very desperate.

Sometimes, on rare occasions, you can convert a non reader into a sometimes reader and they are glad for the conversion.

And then, there are times it goes competently wrong and it drives you crazy you can't convert them and it ends up going a little something like this.

Me: So, how do you like the book I gave you?

Friend: Oh, I haven't read it yet.

Me: Oh that's cool. Just read it when you have time.

(One week later)

Me: Did you read that book yet?

Friend: Oh, No. I actually got really busy. Sorry. I'll probably read it soon though.

Me: Yeah. Okay. Sure.

(Two weeks later)

Me: How about that book?

Friend: Yeah, about that. I tried to get into into it and I'm just not a book person.

Me: Really? How many pages did you read?

Friend: Two... I don't know maybe it was one. Or maybe it was just a paragraph. I don't really remember.

At that point you stand up, try not to cry out in frustration and leave. Sometimes you just can't do it. Believe me, you have nothing to feel guilty about. We book nerds understand the struggle. *Insert hug*
