Be Advised: EXPLETIVES.

Beyond the City’s Embellished Streets,

Along this Overlooked Alley,

The middle-aged Dark haired man of Husky build TALLIES.

The Darkness Shields his Face,

As Through is HEART,

His Pugnacious Thoughts Pulsate:

"CLACK. CLACK. CLACK. CLACK…

So goes the soles of my shoes

When out this night--

Deepest Darkest of Blues.

Damn near on cue

There he scurries across My Path--

That scrawny shriekin’ ass Alley cat.

Dartin' around it is,

Topplin’ over trash can lids,

Makin' a Ruckus at this time of night,

Though,

By now he’s fast out of my sight,

Somewhere beyond the Alley’s Dismal Light--

That Blinkin’ street Lamp just ahead off My Right.

Yet…

I now hear his Wails of Despair;

Hell,

Even for an Alley cat Life is seemingly Cruel and Unfair--

This thought,

Makes me shudder more than Alley cat’s Cries and Shrieks,

Irritated--

At the Lowliest of things I am,

As I walk along and Think.

FLIP. CLICK…

The quick alloy mechanical instrument of flame lights my cigarette--

So called,

Cancer stick.

I take several drags,

Each one takin’ me Back to Memories I’d rather Not have.

Three Sixty...

The nicotine’s effects halfway through my second stick,

Instead of Flash Backs from the Past,

It’s now helpin’ me Forget--

Momentary Mental Mementos of Bullshit;

Includin’ the lung cancer that damn general of surgeons idiot says I will get,

If I don’t Quit…

My nicotine Fix.

And Yeah…

I’ve Tried,

Several times…

To Quit,

Along wit’ makin' my nightly walks a bit Different…
