Percy rushed forward, careful not to step on any of the demigods. He knelt next to Annabeth, tears filling his eyes.

"Hey Wise Girl," he said, brushing the matted hair out of her face.

"Percy," she whispered with uncertainty.

He nodded his head, a sound of happiness escaping his lips.

"I'm here," he pulled out Riptide, slicing Annabeth's chains.

She screamed in pain as her arms hit the stone floor.

Percy wrapped his arms around Annabeth, careful not to hurt her.

"You're safe now," he whispered in her ear.

"Percy?" he heard Thalia from the stairs.

"Down here," he called.

He heard the pounding of feet as the group descended.

"Holy Hades," Will said, seeing the demigods.

"Annabeth," Thalia cried when she saw the boney body in Percy's arms.

"Thalia," Will stopped her with his arm," we need more nectar and ambrosia. Bandages as well."

"But," Thalia argued.

"We need medical supplies or they will die," he said.

Thalia sent a small glance in Annabeth's direction, then ran back up the stairs.

"We need to get everyone un-chained," Will said, glancing around the room," then we can start working on cleaning them up until Thalia gets back."

The vampires went to work, ripping the chains apart, making sure the demigod was as comfortable as could be, then moving on to the next person.

Percy stayed in the corner, holding Annabeth in his arms.

"Percy," Will called," is there any water near by?"

He focused for a moment and sensed the plumbing in the walls.

Water started leaking from the walls, slowly taking away all of the blood and urine.

"Thanks," Will said, kneeling next to a demigod.

"Percy," Annabeth whispered, struggling to talk," go help."

"No way, Wise Girl," he said, shaking his head.

"Perseus Jackson," she said, her eyes drifting shut," go."

Percy stood up, careful not to hurt Annabeth, and turned to the boy next to her.

"Hi," Percy greeted, pulling out his pen," I'm Percy."

"Zach," the boy said shyly.

He didn't look older than eight and had a long scratch going down his chest.

"I'm going to get you out of these chains," Percy warned," it might hurt at first, but I'll count down."

Percy uncapped Riptide, and brought it to the chains.

"One, two, three," Percy said, slashing the chains at three.

Zach made no sound as his arms dropped to his sides.
