But what struck her more was the person in the picture.

The sender finally had a face.

Well, they'd always had a face really. Cynthia just hadn't believed it after accepting that it was probably life just having a joke. She scanned their face, found the familiarities that previously she'd only seen in photographs: a slight, raised, white scar beneath the right eye, closely cropped, grey hair, broad shoulders, a prosthetic foot?

Her father had never had a prosthetic foot. Ever.

In all the stories she'd been told.

Never.

Although this photo was fairly new...

She read the caption underneath.
