The Comeback

FOURTEEN

Days have gone on, and everything has been going okay.

Which is weird.

Ryan has insisted on me letting him take me to and from school.

He walks me to and from each of my classes, and when someone tried to approach me he gets into a protective mode.

I mean I won't lie it's kinda hot, him beingnprtective and all but it gets very annoying.

Like for example,  on my way to lunch, Jeff my lab partner asked me for notes and out I nowhere comes Ryan questioning him, kinda me behind him like Jeff would hurt me.

Jeff is 100lb. 5'3 junior, who missed school for a larping competition. I'm pretty sure he is harmles unless he hits me with a cardboard sword.

Anyways, I'm waiting for Ryan so we can go home I have a ton of homework.

Leaning against Ryan's truck I look through my social media when I hear someone start to shout.

I look up to see an older blue Honda.

"I've been waiting out here for almost an half an hour!" The man in the driver seat shouts.

"I told you I get out at 2:30, not my fault you decided to get here early." I hear a familiar say.

I lean back a bit and to confirm my guess it was Savannah.

"You're so inconsiderate of others Savannah, I have somewhere to be in five minutes." The guy says turning forwards.

"Well then I suggest you start driving." Savannah says before the guy sets off.

Who is that guy? If that's her new boyfriend, no offense but he doesn't seem right for her.

He's definitely older and by the way he looks and talk seems like bad news.

To break my thoughts, I see Ryan walking towards me.

"Sorry, I had to stay back for chem for a second." He says giving me a kiss then opening my door.

He then gets into the driver seat and we head off.

The ride home is quiet but not awkward.

When we arrive to my house I just sit there, then look at Ryan to find him already looking at me.

"Yes?" I say with a smirk.

He just shruggs.

"Wanna hang out later?" He asks leaning forward and placing kisses all over my face.

"I have a lot of homework to do." I laugh out.

"We can do it together." He say undoing my seat belt then pull me closer to him.

"We both know that's not the only thing we'd be doing." I say and Ryan smirks against my skin.

"Well if you finish it early come over." He says pull in away but locking my eyes.

"Yes sir!" I say saluting him then I give him a quick kiss before getting out.

"My eyes hurt!" I shout falling onto my back.

"Remeber to blink!" I hear Charles shout from the kitchen.

"Thanks Captain!" I shout back.

I've been doing my homework for four straight hours, and I finally competed it.

It's only 6:40, I could call Ryan but I'm so tired I might just call it a night.

My mom is out working, so it's only Sarah, Charles and myself.

Charles made a roasted chicken, mashed potaoes and casserole. I'm not that hungry but not wanting to be rude or make them think anything I eat a plate of potaoes.

I then hop in the shower, which I feel lasts an eternity because im just standing there thinking of the stupidest things I've done.

When I'm done I get into my pajama boxer's and pull Caleb's Thrasher hoodie before braiding my hair.

Speaking of Caleb I haven't heard from him in a couple days.

I decided to call him. After three rings he answers.

"Hello?" He shouts almost taking my ear off.

"Jesus Caleb, a little louder." I laugh.

I hear a laugh in the background, a very girly laugh.

"Are you busy?" I ask laying on my bed.

"Uh kinda but I can spare some time." He says and the background noise starts to fade.

"Whats going on chica?" He says making me smile.

"Nothing much, I was going to sleep and I put your sweatshirt on and was thinking about you. Haven't heard from you." I say.

"Aw thats cute, and I know I've been busy with school and work."

"Wow so you have no time for me anymore? I see how it is." I smirk.

"I'll always have time for you Mary Grace, but I didn't think you'd have any for me." He says and voice drops a little.

"What do you mean?" I ask a bit confused.

"You and that Grizzly." He says.

I laugh, "You mean Ryan?"

No response.

Shit. I never told him that me and Ryan are kinda dating.

"Caleb," I begin.

"I already know Mary Grace." He states.

"How?"

"Something called social media." He says with a short chuckle afterwars.

I facepalm.

"Caleb I'm so sorry, I should have called or at least texted you." I sat starting to play with sleeve of the sweatshirt.

"Its okay MGK, it was only a matter of time before it happened." He replies.

We then share an awkward silence.

"So what are you doing?" I ask.

"I'm actually out on a date." He says quiet.

I feel a pang in my chest, but I know I can't think too much of it.

I've clearly moved on and now Caleb is.

"Wait, your on a date?" I say raising my voice.

Caleb sighs.

"Yes Mary Grace, I don't think you should be mad seeing as though you moved on."

"Uh that's not why I'm mad" I laugh, "I'm mad because you're on a date and you left that poor girl to talk to me! What is wrong with you?"

Caleb then laughs.

"A lot of things are wrong with me. But I guess that is a dick move." He says.

"Yes a very dick move. Now before I let you go describe this girl."

Caleb laughs again.

"Well her name is Mae, with an 'e'. She had red hair, blue eyes freckles, I met her at a concert and she goes to Winchester."

"Ooh, Quincy's rival school?" I say wiggling my eyebrows.

"Yes, we have a forbidden love." He chuckles.

"Well I'm going to let you go, have fun on your date and text me tomorrow?"

"Will do Mary Grace. Have a good night."

"You too Caleb." I say before hanging up.

I updated! I know it's been a while but I felt like I should gift you this chapter because I've just reached 10k followers and that seemed like a great reason to update.

I know it was short and uneventful chapter but more is to come.
