Giants and humans once coexisted,

Contrasting edges used to be committed.

Hand in hand, they assembled a nation,

Together headed to one destination.

Northern sky shifted to flaming red,

Fallen fresh meat rapidly bled.

Abruptly plunged to the pits of abyss,

Resulting in the last giant to exist.

Land and heaven were one no more,

No sight of giants, impossibly to be ignored.

The giant dropped weakly on his knees,

Ceaseless tears couldn't compare to the seas.

The only companion left was his white hen,

Though it wasn't a substitute for his men.

Morning 'til dawn, it laid him golden eggs,

Placing them daily in his sack of threads.

Coping for the loss of his loved ones,

Agony choked him through his lungs.

Tonal pattern brought by the puny harp,

Some ways stripping the sorrows - deep and sharp.

As the sun was setting, a soft knock on the door,

A human named Jack was standing on the floor.

For the first time he felt, since that day,

He wasn't alone on his birthday.

❝How did you get here, human?❞ he asked.

Jack paused then answered at last.

❝Beanstalk grew from magical beans.❞

Giant believed heaven fulfilled his dreams.

Exchanged of stories - never noticed the clock.

Tales of earth were all they talked.

Jack noticed that Giant was not different,

His eyes were bottled with peculiar interest.

Three days passed, Jack had to go back.

To the place he belonged; he begun to pack.

Giant wept for he would again be on his own.

❝Don't cry. Who said that I will go back alone?❞

Jack climbed down to explain to his mother,

A friend would go down the twisted ladder.

Astonishment came to her as she saw who it was.

She took the ax and did it at once.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Racket of the beanstalk snapping bit by bit,

Giant groaned louder with every hit.

Earth shook intensely as he fell down,

She was the infamous giant slayer of the town.
