Delilah put on Samuel's red and paisley silk robe hanging on a hook in the bathroom.

The previous night was a blur. Yet she couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted between them. She remembered walking into his bedroom. She remembered leading him to the bed. And she remembered her orgasm. Her cheeks flushed hot as she recalled screaming out Samuel's name in the heat of passion. The sex had been as menacing as it was exciting. And now her entire body was sore.

When was the last time I was sore from sex?

Never.

Carney told her about a weekend of sex so intense it hurt to walk. At the time, Delilah was convinced that Carney was just exaggerating.

Now Delilah knew that sex-sore feeling.

She really needed to soak in a long, hot bath.

When Delilah had discovered Samuel in the kitchen, he was like a new man; showered, shaved, and dressed in one of his many bespoke suits. He was sitting at the breakfast bar with his tie slung over his shoulder, eating a huge breakfast while simultaneously reading The London Times and answering e-mail.

He grabbed her by her waist and pulled her to him and kissed her hard. When he released her, she felt giddy and lightheaded like she had drunk too much champagne. The bubbles fizzing and popping in her brain just from his touch.

Will his kiss always feel like that?

Delilah teased, "Someone's found his appetite," as she looked over his plate overflowing with eggs, bacon and sausage, beans, tomatoes, and two pieces of toast.

Samuel spanked her bottom and said, "Somebody gave me a workout last night."

Delilah poured herself a cup of coffee. She picked up the newspaper sections that Samuel had already discarded. She stole a piece of toast off his plate. Then she sat down next to him and skimmed the paper.

Samuel put his arm around her and said, "Look at us, an old married couple already."

Samuel checked his watch. "I have a meeting." He kissed the top of her head and said, "God knows what my sisters have cocked up since I've been out."

He stood up, drank the rest of his coffee, and grabbed his tablet. Delilah turned around and wrapped her legs around him. She pulled him to her using his tie.

She put her arms around his neck and kissed him. "Are you sure you can't be a few minutes late?"

"Later, I promise I will ravish you from head to toe. What is on your diary today, Ms. D'Arc?" he asked her before taking one last bite of toast.

"I was planning on going to work," she said.

"Work, what work? You have a honeymoon to schedule," Samuel said.

"I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the man needs to first propose with a ring. Then the woman says yes. Then there's this thing called a wedding. Followed then by the honeymoon. Or is it so much different in the witch world?" Delilah asked.

Samuel placed his hand on her chest.

I belong to Samuel.

Does he belong to me?

"Delilah love, there's not much that goes into a clandestine witch wedding," Samuel said.

"So no white dress and a church filled with people?" she asked.
