One week until parents are home

Once again, you worked on your homework.

Once again, Slender was trying to explain the physics equations to you.

Once again, BEN stole your textbook.

Sighing, you held your hand out for the book. BEN shook his head and scooted further from you.

You took the squirt bottle from the center of the table and pointed it at him. Inside was water and some pepper.

The pepper was for Jeff, as when sprayed in his eyes, well, he can't blink it out. You only sprayed him once and now he doesn't piss you off, as long as the spray bottle is near. BEN, on the other hand, doesn't learn.

"You wouldn't."

"Try me, Link."

He threw his arms in the air, exasperated with that stupid nickname because of his looks.

"Why do you insist on calling me that? He's such a wimp. It's called Legend of Zelda for a reason!" He ranted.

Taking the moment of his distraction as an invitation, you stood up quickly and snatched your book back.

"Thank you." You sat back down and listened to Slender's explanation as BEN stormed off to play a video game. He stole the remote from Jeff who started yelling at his friend. You ignored that and continued your work, which was due tomorrow.

In physics class the next day, you shuffled your papers around and stapled them together, ready to be handed in. Your teacher walked up and down the aisles of desks and students, collecting the homework.

Drumming your pencil on the desk, you waited as the teacher slowly walked back to the board and wrote down some pages to read and questions to do. The entire class groaned, you included, at more work.

As the class read through the section, and the teacher marked the work, the only sound was the scratching of pens and pages being turned.

A light knocking sound, knuckles on glass, echoed through the rather quiet room.

Students looked up and around, but there was no one at the door, or the window. Besides, the glass was on the second story, who could get up on the roof?

A round of shrugs passed around the room as every settled back down to work again.

Soon after, the knocking happened again, a little louder. A couple people grumbled about how whoever was doing it wasn't funny and simply annoying. You kept watch on the windows out of the corner of your eye, a growing unease in the pit of your stomach.

Sure enough, a hand covered in a black glove popped up from under the window, a scalpel gripped in it. It rapped once, twice, thrice on the window. Even though some strands of your (h/c) hair blocked parts of your view, there was no mistaking that it was Jack at the window, trying to get your attention.
