The shadows grow longer, and finally the last rays of the sun kiss the clouds before they disappear. Soon, the light will fade, and the night will claim the world. This isn't a place to spend the night, and suddenly, home seems very far away...

This is the setup, your main character finds himself—or herself—in. Your job is to write a story based on this prompt, including the details why the protagonist got here and how he/she gets out of this frightening situation.


But... your main character must be an anthropomorphic animal. Think of Reepicheep the Mouse in Chronicles of Narnia or the March Hare in Alice in Wonderland.

Story must be appropriate for children up to the age of ten.

Maximum word count is 2000 words.

Stories are accepted in English, Spanish, French and German only.


In addition to the classic short story, we will also accept picture books and stories written in rhyme/as poems (as an example: "the owl and the pussycat" by Edward Lear).


Please put your story into a new book on wattpad for the chance to be featured on a reading list of the Fantasy profile.
