She had never seen him cry, he never did but at that moment sitting next to her he shed tears.
'It must be something bad', Hermione thought to herself.
"What is it Draco? Tell me?" She asked quietly, watching his face, his eyes were downcast and he tried so hard not to look at her because he knew he would break more if he did.
"Draco, please look at me", the crack in her voice made him look up.
"I'm so sorry" he said.
She looked at him confusingly but saw in his eyes that he wasn't ready to talk about it, so she looked at him put her hand on his cheek and kissed him.
He held her tight and that's when he broke down to the point of destruction.
That's when Hermione realized as she looked down, a knife in her chest.
Draco held her even tighter and screamed "SORRY! SORRY! I TRIED BUT IT WAS TOO LATE."
And with her last breath she said "it's going to be alright, don't blame yourself, I love yo....."
She couldn't finish the sentence, she was gone, Draco's heart broke as he held her body in his hands tears dripping down his face. I love you too.
