A Babysitter!

It was almost 12am when Layla was

walking home from Lucas's house after a long night of scary movies and wayyy to much food. It was a cool breeze floating through the fall night, She loved walking on nights like this. She unlocked the front door to her house and took her coat off; Walking to the kitchen she got a bottle of water and went to up to her bedroom

'Mom's car isn't in the driveway...I guess it's another late night' she thought to herself, Sighing peacefully she put her Pajamas on, Brushed her teeth and went to bed.

[The next morning]

Layla slowly opened her eyes

as her alarm clock blared off in her ear, She jumped up and began to smell the intoxicating aroma of bacon, She swiftly got out of bed and headed downstairs to find her mom making breakfas "Hi sweetie" Leana chirped placing a slice of bacon on a plate

"Hi mama" Layla said kissing her cheek "How was work?" she asked taking the piece of bacon off the plate

"It was good Hon" she replied flipping a pancake
"Are you hanging out with Lucas today?" Leana asked as she hummed to herself

"Nah, He's at his dad's house for the weekend" she said as her mom placed a plate of delicious Wonder in front of her

"So then, What are you doing today love?" Leana asked as she went back to the stove

"I'll just be home all day, Probably watch some horror movies, It is almost Halloween after all" Layla replied as she smiled.

it was a natural thing for Layla and her mom to talk about...Really anything, They were super close to each other.

"You are going to have nightmares lay" Leana warned as she snickered playfully

"...Maybe, But I'll be fine. What are you doing tonight?" Layla asked as she started cutting her pancakes

"I'm going out with Eric" Leana said sitting down across from her daughter

"Ohh, Will it be...Explict?" Layla asked wiggling her eyebrows suggestively

"...Absolutely not" Leana replied rolling her eyes, Layla laughed and continued chewing on her bacon

"I hired a babysitter for you, For when I have long nights at work" Leana spoke, Making Layla almost choke on her pancakes

"A babysitter?...Really mom?" she whined out as her mom snickered

"You know I don't like leaving you home alone lay" Leana said firmly

"...Fine, What time?" Layla reluctantly asked

"6:30pm, His name is Matthew and he is 24" Leana informed as she ate her eggs.

Layla sighed as she finished her food

"He is the ceo of a local company as well" Leana said eating some of her pancakes

"Uh, You couldn't have hired a real babysitter, Why?" Layla asked crossing her arms in front of her

"Layla, He is a real babysitter, He has had experience in this line of work and...Don't question me, I'm the mom" she pouted, making Layla giggle

"Mhm...And how did you meet him?" Layla asked drinking her apple juice

"Eric knows him" Leana said sipping her now cold coffee, Layla rolled her eyes and dramatically spoke

"Okay, he better be cool" Layla said as she turned her nose up playfully, Leana laughed at her as she grabbed their dishes off of the table

"Well, Ya never know" is all Leana said before washing the dishes and going upstairs.
