Chapter 40: To the Rescue

The night soon came, and the whole apartment was quiet

I slowly and very quietly opened the room door I was in, it made a slight sqeak

I checked the living room, scanning the place. No one was there, it was dark

I tiptoed to the kitchen, and without the light, I somehow managed to find the drawer with utensils in it, and pulled out a knife

No I am not a murderer, but if anything were to happen, I needed this for self protection

I quietly walked to the front door, and I grabbed the pair of boots I brought when I first came, and my coat

I let out a deep breath, and I quickly unlocked the door, as my hand was on the knob, I heard the sleepy voice of Adam from his room

"Who the hell is at the door?"

I quickly turned the knob and ran out, I didn't even get a chance to close the door again.

I skipped the elevator and ran down the stairs, thank God I was only on the second floor

My breath got heavier as I reached outside

Where do I go? Where do I go?

I heard faint footsteps from behind me, and out of fear, I ran to the side of the building

Back pressed against the wall, and hand clutching the knife tightly

I heard Adam calling my name out in anger..I held my breathe and prayed to the dear Lord this man didn't find me

I saw him run fast past me, but he didn't notice me, because it was dark

I let out a heavy breath, there was no time to waste

I remember when coming here, there was a Mcdonalds, like down the street, I would have to go there

I slowly peaked my headd around the corner of the building, checking if Adam was in the front, when I saw nothing, I made a run for it, but as I was running, I saw Adam's tall figure blocking my way to the street

I stopped immideatly and almost fell, unfortunately he saw me, and began chasing me

I ran towards the parking lot , trying to make it confusing for him to find me

Knowing that Adam was way faster then I, I called out for help

"Help! Somebody help!" I yelled out in desperation, hiding behind different cars

"Shut up, you dumb b*tch!"I heard Adam yell from somewhere, and his voice did not sound too far

I began, getting slower, since I was tired

"Heeeeelp!!! Please!!! Somebody!! I need heeeellp!" I tried again

Where was everyone?

I saw a big SUV, and sat behind it, I was way to tired

Breathing hard I curled myself into a ball

I heard Adam footsteps coming closer and closer, I closed my eyes really tight

"There you are b*tch" I heard a heavy voice say

I looked up to see Adam standing not to far from me

I stood up and held out my knife

"What are going to do with that?" He laughed "Hurt me? You're not like that Renae, now come to me, or you're punishment will be worse"
