Chapter 22

1 year later :

"Sweetie I'm so glad your home"
I was ,as usual, pulled into a tight embrace by my mother.

"Mum ok I am back for now but you know it won't be for long"

"Of course of course your ready to leave my nest and live by yourself I'm so proud of you"  she ruffled my blonde hair.

Sam had been down a handful of times since we became official and now after college we decided to move into a flat together. we had got so used to living away from home anyway. It made sense. Nathan after some persuasion has given Sam a chance and things were looking up
I just needed to find a job and then we'd be all set.

"When is Sam coming down? He is such a sweet guy" my mum has really taken a fancy to him.

"Oh in about a weeks time he's gotta sort stuff out at his mums first" his mum was a sweetheart, of course raising someone like Sam it wasn't a surprise. Things had progressed between us and I was happy to note I didn't think of Hunter deep eyes and all of the time we had spent together is nothing but a fond memory. Of course I was hoping that wouldn't change when I was doomed to come face to face with him sooner or later. I think in my head I kinda of hoped I'd avoid him. The hole had been filled but I'm not sure how secure it was. We hadn't spoken at all since our argument a year ago. Chloe knew but other than that no one else knew or realised it was easy keeping that secret when we were far away.

It felt nice being back home as I lay down later that day on my cozy bed.

"Sis hey!" Nathan came in and gave me a hug

"Hey Nathan I'm so glad to be back" I had missed him really badly.

"Same Sis I can keep an eye on you now yeah" he chuckled as I rolled my eyes.

"I'm grown up now, basically an adult, you need an eye on more than me" he scoffed at me

"Pft not true. Anyway let's catch up later I gotta dash Hunter will be waiting for me"

The instant the name left Nathan's lips I feel uncomfortable but I swallowed and pretend like nothing happened. God I can't even go a day without hearing it maybe being back would be even more complicated than before.

"Nah...nope..eh no" I rolled my eyes as Chloe read out a few Job descriptions. We were currently were sitting in the kitchen on my laptop. It had been about a week since we got back from uni and I still hadn't found a job but I really needed to if Sam and me where going to move out.

"Oh come on"

"No Chloe I spent a couple years doing this business course I need something office based" I had a feeling she was just reading out jobs which interested her.

"Fine fine you have a look then" she moved the screen over as I had a search.

"Bella do you mind perhaps moving this elsewhere? I need the kitchen space to start preparing" my mum entered.

"Preparing for what?" I didn't realise anything was happening.

"Oh the Andersons are coming over for dinner" ....just great why wasn't I informed of this?

"Oh um ok" I grabbed the laptop and made a beeline for my room. Chloe races after me.

"Why are you acting funny?"

"What me nope I'm not"

"Yes you are you sprinted out the kitchen"she looked thoughtful "It's about the Andersons isn't it?" damn it she knew me so well.
