Black and can never go back

It was the night before Aaron and Lara’s monthsary and the former is chatting with Leila and Kristoff on facebook. Their chats seemed fun until someone sent him a message.

“Asl mo” tanong ng sender. Aaron realized it was a guy. He tried to answer since he knew that ‘Asl’ means Age, sex and location. Aaron thought that he could just click the ‘About Me’ button in his profile. Since he has a very low tolerance to strangers who speak with him, he snapped.

“Nasa About me. Wag kang tamad.” Aaron replied. What he saw next made his jaw drop.

“Pakipot ka. Paminta ka rin naman.”

Aaron knows that term since Kristoff told him about it. It disgusts him with its very thought.

“Kung wala kang sasabihing maayos, humanap ka na lang ng papatol sa kagaguhan mo.” Aaron promptly replied then selected his status as offline. He was clearly not amused. Then he told Leila and Kristoff what happened. No one among the two replied but they saw his message.

To ease his stress, tinawagan niya ang kanyang girlfriend.

“Miss me?” tanong ng binata sa dalaga. He can hear her giggle over the line. “I’ll be there tomorrow. May regalo ako. Secret kung ano.”

                Hindi sumagot si Lara. Bagkus ay huminga ito ng malalim then lowered her voice.

                “Ako rin. May regalo. Sana magustuhan mo.” She readied herself to give herself sa binata kinabukasan.

                “Kahit ano yan. Basta galing sa iyo. Kahit ikaw na nga lang e.” sabi ng binata. He didn’t mean sex or something, he just wants to be with her like the old days.

                “Mahal kita.” Tugon ni Lara. “Mahal na mahal kita.”

                “Alam ko. Ako rin.” Sagot ni Aaron pero hindi niya alam if he meant what he said. Hindi niya na alam ang isasagot niya. Something tells him that he wants Kristoff but another part of him says he must not. Sa kadahilanang ayaw nang sumakit ng ulo ng binata sa mga bagay na hindi niya na alam ay natulog na lang siya. What he forgot was to greet his girlfriend about their monthsary noong tumuntong ang alas dose ng madaling araw. He did not know Lara waited for it until 1 am then she cried herself to sleep.

                He was peacefully sleeping when his phone rang and woke him up. He saw Kristoff’s name.

                “Aaron, we must talk before I leave.” At biglang nagising ang binata. Gumayak ito at hindi pumasok sa klase nila ngayong araw. Ang sabi niya lang kay Leila ay may pupuntahan siyang mahalaga.

“Saan namang lupalop nagsuot si Kristoff?!” sigaw ni Aaron sa University Gymnatorium. He took a look in his clock. It’s about four in the afternoon and he was looking for him the whole day. Aaron promised to see Lara at eight thirty since the university is about two hours away from his home. It was because Kristoff sent him a very creepy message that morning and thought he must speak with him.

He saw Kristoff at the old building where they first met. Aaron was shocked for two reasons. First, he overlook the most obvious place and he saw Kristoff was crouching while crying. May pasa rin ang binata sa tabi kanyang labi.

“Akala ko, hindi mo na ako makikita.” Sabi ni Kristoff.

“Buong araw kitang hinanap. Hindi mo sinasagot tawag ko. Nakaisang libong texts na ata ako sa iyo. Pinatay mo na ako sa pag-aalala.”
