I remember everything. My sister trying to kill me. My mom tried to kill me. My dad...My dad raped me multiple times.
I had to go to therapy. I started to work at a strip club at 14 and I still do to this day. I remember my first boyfriend. He was abusive.
I was in an abusive relationship and I was not aware of it. My therapists would tell me. "A partner who is acting in an abusive manner can be engaging in various forms of domestic violence. Often, people fail to see all the signs that are being displayed. Many times they simply want the relationship to work or there is the convincing of the abuser that is hard to overcome.
I will always remember her words.
