Chapter 2

I've already taken a bath because Carl and I have a date today. I'm excited because it's the first time he's asked me out on a date.

I'm done bathing and I've finished doing my makeup. I can't sit still, I'm so excited. I don't know what to wear, maybe I'll just wear a black dress since it looks beautiful.

I'm done getting ready, I messaged carl kung susunduin niya ba ako he said no at sabe niya mag kita nalang daw kame sa sm moa.

I got into my car and arrived at my destination quickly, the happiness of the moment never leaving my lips because it's my first time experiencing this.

Excited na ako na malaman nina Ivy at Aria na niyaya ako ni carl maki pag date.

Nakarating na ako sa sm moa. Maghihintay na lang ako sa kanya, baka medyo ma-late lang siya.

While waiting outside sm, I saw a child selling sampaguita, nilapitan ko siya muka na kasing gutom e nakakaawa naman.

"Bili na po kayo sampaguita ate ganda pambili ko lang po ng pagkain ko nagugutom na kase ako." The child said while gently stroking his stomach.

"I'll give you money to buy your food, then you can go home." 

I gave him 2k because his face looked pitiful, he also seemed tired from selling.

"Salamat po ano po pala name niyo ate ganda?"

"Zoe, ikaw anong name mong cute ka?"

"Sean po, ang ganda niyo po ate zoe"

"Thank you, sean you should go home now so you can buy something to eat."

"Salamat po ate zoe"

Sean has already left, and I returned to my car because it's hot. I messaged Carl since it's already 1 am, but he still hasn't seen the message. Maybe he's just stuck in traffic.

I thought about getting out of the car to look for him, maybe he just left his phone at home so he couldn't see my message.

I was far from the car when I got a notification on my phone. I saw Carl's name, so I quickly opened the message.

"I can't go." I was stunned by the message.

"My friend invited me to play basketball. I'll make it up to you next time." Why is it like that? He prioritizes his friend over me. Am I not important to him? He always just leads me on.

I didn't message him anymore because I'm feeling really hurt. He always makes me feel like I'm not important.

I just sat down on the ground, I didn't care if a lot of people were looking at me.

Suddenly, the rain poured down, but I didn't leave my spot because it felt like I couldn't stand up. My whole body was shaking.

What does he think of me? Wala akong nararamdaman, that I'm just like any other person who gets hurt? Why did he even invite me on a date if he wasn't going to show up? He should have just told me from the beginning so I wouldn't assume he was coming.

He's so painful to love. I'm tired of everything he's doing to me. Why did I even like him?

He really prioritizes his friend over me. Loving him is exhausting.

While I was crying in the middle of the road, may lumapit sakin babae at pinayungan ako.

"You can cry all you want, whatever your problem is, you'll overcome it. Everyone goes through something, we all get hurt because we're human. So just cry until you feel better." She gave me a handkerchief and didn't leave my side.
