Chapter 21

"I came to surprise you..." I stared at his beaming face "well you are definitely surprised" he seemed a bit worried at my reaction.

"Wow um yeah sorry I'm just shocked I didn't know you were coming"

"We had said about you know meeting up over the summer there's only a week left now ....and I ...damn it I knew I shouldn't come or I should have told you first" he seemed nervous.

"No no I'm just in shock we didn't really finalise anything so I didn't expect to see you but it's great" I forced out a smile as I went to hug him again. He was so cute stumbling over his words.

"I missed you Bella"

Guilt surrounded me as I cringed internally. He didn't deserve this.

"My brother is in so perhaps we could you know go somewhere else" I suggested.

"Oh sure yeah I'm not sure his my biggest fan"he chuckled remembering there last meeting when he found him in bed.

"Oh don't worry his just like that with everyone" I smiled "let me just get ready, do you mind waiting here"

"Sure I'll go wait in the car" he moved closer and brushed his lips against mine. I had to break things off he was too nice and most certainly too good for me right now...it felt safe but I didn't feel the urgency, the wildness I did when I was with Hunter.

"Okay I won't be long" I sighed as I shut the door and turned around only instantly wishing I hadn't.

There in the hall way stood Hunter with a bag of crisps he had clearly just been in the kitchen and heard everything, his eyes didn't leave mine.

"Um it's not..."I struggled to explain knowing what it looked like.

"Save it Harrison" it was like a switch went off and I could see he had build his wall right back up. Since when did he call me by my last name. "Your boyfriend has arrived you better go or he will be suspicious your taking so long"

"Hunter, his not my boyfriend" I reach out to grab his hand "I'm gonna break up with him not that there's anything to break we were just seeing each other at uni but nothing progressed and ..." I felt my jumble of thoughts spill out in my nervousness.

"I said save it" he flinched away from my touch.

"Listen" I begged know longer caring that Nathan might hear.

"There's really is nothing to say Arabella" he forced my name out like a bad taste. "Go and be with him"

"I don't want to I want you!" I finally said it but his face didn't show any emotions. I continued when he didn't say anything "you knew right at the start didn't you? You knew after what happened that I wanted you isn't it obvious"

"It's just an attraction Bella between us it couldn't ever be a real thing I'm your brothers best mate what kinda of a friend..."

"No don't give me that! You didn't care about that when you fucked me!" My voice was raised now I'm anger. How dare he do this again to me. I thought this time was different. "What about the lake..."

"Shhh" he hissed grabbing my hand pulling me away from the stairs. "Look I thought you knew it was just some fun we are attracted to each other and it happened but it's too complicated to ever be anything serious Nathan would never agree plus you know Penny."

"Penny! What are you on about?" instantly I was reminded of the news Chloe said about them jetting off on a romantic holiday was it really anything serious between them? He had said it wasn't before that it was for show.
