The faint glow emitted in his body like moonlight covering his entirety, as if to replace the moon in the evening sky. I was aghast with the whole scene but not as much as Reichen who was pale and quivering.

That kind of trembling was so familiar. It was not from mere shock but fear. I quickly jumped down to approach him. I reached for his back but he flinched and pushed my hand away. I did not expect that reaction which resulted in my ass landing on freezing water.

I glanced at the fogged shore and there were no signs of Reapers nearby. Fortunately, we seemed to have lost them. I stood up and drew nearer again. He was murmuring nonsense and was distracted from everything based on his unfocused eyes.

I extended my barrier to put him to sleep and calm him down but as I had deduced Amicas and Cattivos didn't easily fall to the rules inside my barrier.

"Do not resist my magic, Reichen," I spoke in a low tone so I would not aggravate him further.

I patted his back once more and he let me. I pulled his body closer and put him to sleep. His dead weight crashed on me. I staggered to my feet and was now fully soaked beneath him.

His head rested on the crook of my shoulder and I moved him sideways which in turn made the gleam on his body intensify. He was indeed not kidding when he said he was heavy as I struggled to lift him despite me being stronger than regular ladies.

In the end, I gave up and held his arm, and hauled him in the sand, leaving a trail. If anybody discerned he was the real King of Deliora, I would be prosecuted for my action but it did not matter since we were alone and I was the only one who knew about this incident.

Reichen was only a step in the seas so it was not that far but the waves spanned quite a distance so I towed him up to the dry sands in both hands and the glow eventually dispersed.

"Awakening, dispel," I muttered and took out the portier to contact Sullien which we had been trying to do since earlier.

I waited for seconds and searched for Reichen's spear when I heard a response.

"Goddess oversees all. Give me a moment. I'm in a crowded area."

I nodded unconsciously and removed my thumb on the portier to end the conversation. I finally found the golden spear and went back to his side. I counted a full minute before touching the portier again and calling Sullien.

"Goddess oversees all," I greeted first. "This is Ace."

"Goddess oversees all. I just got back from the temple," said Sullien, his typical gentle timbre was unrecognizable from the portier.

"We've been contacting you since a while ago," I informed him.

"Some spatial magic like Mother's may still be not working especially in the temple's premises. Anyhow, how is the treasure?"

"In my hands but we are in dire need of you. I'm currently at the shore not far from the temple. I don't know if the Reapers are still here but Reichen had fainted and was of no use at the moment."

"What happened?" A worry was cast on his voice. I guessed they were friends after all.

"It was..." I recalled the strange sight again and it was too peculiar to describe. "Never mind. I'll explain it later. Please come here as soon as possible."

"Okay. Contact me right away if you're in danger."

"Alright."

I slid the portier back into my bag and glimpsed at the slumbering figure of Reichen. Just what occurred to make him act like that?

My mind became absent as I stared at his serene appearance but it gradually switched into a frown. He was moaning and mumbling. My feet seemed to have a mind on their own since I was already kneeling right beside him.
