I place the juice and a plate of cookies on a floral yellow tray and make my way upstairs.

Just as I get to the first step, I hear a knock at the door. Sighing, I put the tray down and go to the door. As I open it, I feel a hand clamp down on my mouth and I try to scream, but no sound escapes my lips.

Thinking quickly, I bite down hard on the stranger's hand and they immediately withdraw it from my face. Sprinting as fast as I can, I run up the stairs with loud footsteps behind me.

I burst into my room to see Michael and Luke sitting side by side chatting. They both look up when they hear me and Luke's reflexes kick in almost straight away. He leaps up, running to me and holding our bodies close.

Michael steps in front of us as a barrier as the stranger enters the room. I feel Luke's grip on me tighten as the tanned, dark haired figure before us smirks arrogantly.

"Well well well, what do we have here?" Calum sneers. I'm not surprised he's not at all intimidated by us. I mean, we're not exactly the toughest looking group out there.

"Stay away from her Calum." Luke growls, his voice low and serious.

"And why should I do what you say, pretty boy? You're all talk." Calum spits, venom drowning his voice.

"Calum stop..." Michael mumbles.

No, no, NO!

It's very brave of Michael to do that for me, but he's going to end up hurt.

"You wanna go Clifford?" Calum smirks again and Michael just fixes his gaze on his feet.

"Calum please, don't hurt him. He doesn't deserve it." I'm surprised at how strong and powerful my voice sounds, almost as if someone else has spoken.

The next few seconds seem to play out in slow motion. All I see is a blur, but then it starts to become clearer as my eyes focus on the scene in front of me.

Calum stepping towards Michael.

His fist connecting with Michael's jaw.

Michael falling to the ground.

Luke taking a swing at Calum but missing.

A strong hand wrapping around my wrist, pulling me away from Luke.

A demonic scream rising from my body.

Tears filling Luke's eyes as he yells my name.

Hot droplets streaming down my cheeks as our hands part.
The End.

A/N ok, this is NOT the end of the book! Just a phrase I thought would be good to end this chapter.
