My Crazy Life (Kurapika x Reader)

Chapter 9: Relaxation~

Previously: Kurapika's eyes immediately started to glow a faint scarlet. He was wide eyed for a moment. Kurapika felt sick to his stomach. 'I hope (y/n) doesn't see this....' he thought.

Kurapika was getting nervous, maybe even sweating....wait sweating? No, he's was over thinking the situation. Kurapika glanced over at (y/n). She held a calm face. Too calm. She must had grown out of being afraid. He sighed in relaxation.

"Hey," a man from the group observed, "These are the eyes of Kurta, they turn scarlet when in excitement."

Kurapika let his bangs cover his eyes.

"And-"

"S-shut it! You don't understand! Not another word," Kurapika said while cutting him off. You looked over your shoulder to see the angered Kurapika, and frowned. There he goes again. You decided to focus on choosing a human body part to find. You decided to find a skull, and Kurapika was going to find human hair.

After a long time of searching, you all arrived back to the sight. "I found a human skull," you said while setting the object on the table. Kurapika set his object down as well.

"Good," the man said, "You all are hired."

He led you down a long, narrow hallway.

"Excuse me..." a women with pink hair tied up in a bun observed, "What is this?"

It looked like a crystallized man reaching out of the wall as if he was in distress. It was kind of freaking you out.

"Ah this," the man answered, "This is the old body guard that was for the boss. You guys are the replacements. He was in a situation that endangered the boss, so he got punished."

You guys walked some more and stopped at a door.

"This is where the boss is," he said and opened the door.

Unlike a normal, husky, fearsome boss it was none other than a young girl in her teens. She had sky blue hair tied up, with beads hanging down from the ends. You sweat dropped. This is the boss?

You all were walking back from the area. While you were walking, you noticed a short, plump looking....woman? She also had gray hair including rodent teeth. Her voice was high and soft,

"Hello I'm Melody, might I ask what your name is?"

She seemed to be talking to Kurapika. He stayed silent for a little while.

"No, I won't tell you," he plainly responded.

You didn't want to be rude, but decided to stay silent. You noticed how Kurapika wasn't acting like his usual self. Yes, he was pretty serious at times, but not as angry either. He seemed distracted, but determined. You wanted to know what was on his mind. Since he was a bit faster than everyone else, you caught up to him.

"Kurapika...uh..."

"Yes? What is it?"

"A-are you feeling okay?"

"Of course....I feel fine..."

This didn't seem to convince you. Kurapika took notice of this and started to rub his neck.

"Well, I'm feeling a little stressed right now...with all the Phantom Troupe business."

"Ah ok.."

You smiled. He just needed to relax a bit. Little did you know, you were staring at him the whole time. Kurapika was taken aback and blushed at your intimidating stare. Unfortunately for (y/n), she was walking backwards and fell over, but she pulled Kurapika down with her and fell on top of her. Kurapika's arms were on either side of her shoulders. He was just staring down at her, eyes tinted scarlet. Even though he was wearing dark lenses, you could see the scarlet red underneath. You blushed the same color. You were embarrassed. You felt all the people that were with you are staring at you now. Your heart rate accelerated at a tremendous speed.

"K-Kurapika I-I think you can get of me now...." you stuttered.

It was his turn to blush and take notice. He got off of you in a second.

"Gomen..." he mumbled inaudibly.

As you two were walking back, you had a confident look on your face. 'At least he relaxed a little bit today...' you thought.
