Katsuki ended up texting his mom he was gonna be home later than he'd expected, but gauging by her reply, she'd already expected that would happen. Tch, damn old hag... But his old classmates weren't as annoying as he'd expected them to be. He felt rather...calm, relaxed, as he mindlessly listened to others ramble about things he forgot but also mundane things. It was fun, honestly. Not that he'd ever admit that.
"Have you seen Eri since it happened? I'm sure she's worried about you" Uraraka asked.
"Yeah, I bet she feels guilty... You've gotta let her know you're alright" Kirishima nodded.
"Like Aizawa hasn't already told her" Katsuki grumbled.
"Besides, I don't want to be around an annoying brat that can't control their quirk. It's just asking for trouble""Kacchan! Eri isn't annoying! You won't admit it, but you really care about her" Izuku pointed out, quickly scrolling through his phone.
"Here, look. You helped her make this drawing"
Katsuki grabbed his phone in order to get a better look. He vaguely remembered a small girl with a horn on the side of her forehead, lost and alone in the hospital. He brought her back to her room, spent the afternoon with her... What was Katsuki even doing in a hospital..? When..? He frowned, handing the phone back to Deku. Deku... That sounded wrong somehow... Did he stop calling him Deku now that they were dating? He'd always used the name to belittle him, to bully him, so it made sense for him to stop calling him that now. But Midoriya didn't sound right either...
"Whatcha thinking about Bakubro?" Kirishima asked as others were pulled into a conversation about the best cereal brand.
"I don't call Deku 'Deku' anymore, do I?" Katsuki thought out loud.
"Nope, you call him by his actual name now" Kaminari pointed out.
"Like, his first name""Yeah, it's adorable" Mina squealed, not noticing how Katsuki paled. He hadn't called Deku by his first name in ages... Well, not true according to these idiots, but he didn't remember doing any of that shit! He couldn't believe he actually called Deku...Izuku... It made all kinds of feelings rise up within him. Bubbly, tingly, happy feelings. Ugh... He felt so mushy and soft and it was the most frustrating thing he'd ever felt in his life! He hated the fact Deku made him feel like this! And yet... Yet he loved it at the same time. Fuck.
"He still calls me Kacchan though" Katsuki said, ignoring Ashido's comment.
"Which is a super cute nickname, even you can't deny that" Hagakure spoke up, starling some of them. Where the hell did she suddenly come from?!
"Unless you want him to call you Katsuki~"
Katsuki felt his face heat up at the thought, silently cursing the gay mess he was right now as he heard Mina squeal again."Ugh, shut up!" he yelled, standing up, wanting to get away from their prodding and teasing for a moment. He bumped against the coffee table in the process though, making it wobble and a glass on the other side of the table started to fall. Before anyone could react, black tendrils shot out to catch it, instantly catching the attention of everyone in the room. Izuku's eyes were wide, he clearly didn't intend to use his quirk just now.
"It activates when you've got a single goal in mind. Something to grab, to catch"
He'd been dreaming about the previous users of One For All. Or, to be more precise, the first and the fifth. The information was more than welcome and he hadn't lost control since what happened at joint training. Yet none of his classmates knew about that... Neither did he mean to use it just now. Whoops? In shock, he dropped the glass almost instantly, Blackwhip vanishing as quickly as it came. The glass fell on the ground, breaking but not shattering.
Katsuki felt something break inside him too. Black vines invading his vision, a picture of Deku wrapped up in the middle of it all. He remembered rushing to his side, using his quirk- People weren't supposed to see his quirk, weren't supposed to know- He'd been scared but he'd risked it. For Deku. For Izuku. All for Izuku... But fuck, he'd been scared. Terrified.
